I have a big respect for the CDFC and what they have achieved since 2000 but I get sick to death of the excuse about them training harder this time of the year everytime they lose! The ABC commentators kept alluding to it today except for Andrew Rogers (who is the worst special comments man on the ABC but he got that bit right today) and now Warren Partland who is a Centrals member writing about it albeit quoting Collins who instead praising up his own team is making up excuses for Centrlas losing - WTF!!!

As good as Central's are not even they can be undefeated week after week, year after year so why does this shit about "Roy traiining them hard" get trotted out as an excuse for a loss???

Sometmes even the best lose and the other team was better on the day. Surprised that excuse hasn't been trotted out for the GF losses since 2000!

I reckon this is a fair quote from the coach:

"Once upon a time the players worked hard but the kick would not hit the target," Collins said. "It is maturity and something we emphasised over the pre-season - our skill level took precedence over everything else."

When Norwood rolled Westies early in the season, it wasn't through a lack of contested ability on West's behalf, it was just their inability to consistently hit targets.

I said to a few people that week when they'd presumed we'd won it easily, that if West could get their disposal quality up they would be a very good team .. I reckon that's what's happening.

Big media out at Elizabeth then! Seriously it is the media but who feeds the trolls and the "urban myths"? Funny though when the media raise it with any Central palyer or official they don't deny it except the only one that counts is the coach and he never mentions it or comments on it when asked?

A major problem we've got is our fullback from last year is our best forward, then we have zippo other goal kickers. I'm putting a lot of faith in an under 18 (I think he is) in Menzel, coming in to kick some goals, if hes recovered from OP. Maybe eddy has to go up there, even though his best footy is in the back lines.

I dont get to any training sessions throughout the year but i did have a chat with James Boyd at the end of his first year and he said that the infamous 'hard training' period was harderst training period he had ever done and was harder than a pre season at South. The programs were written up by Stephen Schwerdt and were based on AFL pre season training condensded into 3- 2.5 hour sessions.

I wouldnt have a clue what other teams training sessions are like and whether they upt the anti around the finals but a performance like todays can definatly NOT be blamed on hard training especially when you have players arguing over who is going to run 10 meters to man up a player 20m out directly infront of goal.

Menzel and then throw in Tommy Dunne as well. May be worth chucking Orval in the deep end, cant do any worse than Westoff

Did Barmby play ressies today?

Thinking Obst and Hayes wont play finals, Ideally i would like to see a forward line off

Dunne Hardy Menzel
Gowans Lawton Sansbury
