Uris to get up by 3 goals.

what a ridiculous statement. how are lofty recruits to big and slow? they have recruited better than any other hills side last 2-3 yrs. they went from bottom to 5th in 1 yr. name one recruit to slow and big?

"Would you be talking about Mt Lofty's star ruckman in Will Grosser- if he is getting paid that is outrageous, I think big Joelby Hampton could play Grosser's role more effectively in the A's. But watch out Joelby your C grade rucking position may be under threat from big Willy. "

James Lyons

Postby Panther32 » Thu May 03, 2007 3:19 pm

I heard James Lyons played at Ironbank last season and is now playing up at Jervois or somewhere in the River Murray league, is he any good??? I heard he used to play Westies as a junior and is getting a bit of coin up that way.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Widdo has been playing baseball, getting married and has been on an overseas trip to South Africa and only just got back last week. He has been out to training and is very keen to get back to footy with the Thunderers.

I think there's a little too much emphasis put on Lofty's loss last week, and talk of slow recruits.
Sure, Grosser looked slow, but no-one looked real quick that night at Heathfield either.
It's about winning flags, if a few imports help you do it, people will come and watch. There are still some fantastic locals VYING for spots, just the way it should be.

Interesting, i believe that the whole league was spoiled last year with a complete lack of wet weather games, I dont think Lofty have really been pushed in wet conditions, could be an interesting year if we see a majority of wet weather games this year. Lofty can take it to anyone in the dry as demonstrated last year, their skills are great, but clearly as was shown on the weekend they dont seem to be able to handle the wet weather too well.

Well i guess if its dry Lofty, if its wet maybe Uris may get up?
also Blackwood over Bridgy
Hahndorf over Birdwood
Onkas over Mt Ronnie
Ironbank over Lobethal

Everyone's got a VERY short memory on wet weather footy.

Mt Lofty v Uris at Heathfield in 2006. Devils win by 1 goal in 2 and a half quarters of WET WEATHER footy.

Mt Lofty v Blackwood at Heathfield in 2006. Devils win by 17 odd goals and keep Blackwood to 3 behinds for the WHOLE game in 4 quarters of WET WEATHER footy.

Seriously, Onkas won because they played better. It was a good tough, hard game and Onkas got up by 5 POINTS.

Lets not write the Devs off after a 5 point loss. There are 18 games left in the season. Don't be surprised if the Devs win every one of them.

PITY YOU DIDN'T KICK SEVEN STRAIGHT LIKE AT THUNDER PARK IN '05'.

AS WITH THE 'A' GRADE AT DEVIL LAND THEY WERE MISSING A LOT UP FORWARD. BUT THAT IS LIFE. THIS WEEK THE FORWARD LINE WILL LOOK ALOT MORE POTENT. AND IT IS FORCAST FOR FINE WEATHER SO IT WILL BE ON. IF PENCIL IS IN THE RUCK ALL DAY THE ONBALLERS WILL HAVE ALL THE PLAY OUT OF THE GUTS. THAT MAN IS A BETTER RUCKMAN THAN ANYONE IN THE HILLS. AND CAN NOT BE CONTAINED AROUND THE GROUND.

Yeh if you call it playing then yes he did at Ironbank. Would tear a hamstring (heart string) most trainings. Can play a good game once a year but just no consistency. Goes around looking for big money and clubs stupid enough to pay it. Jervois are on a Winner!

bagging lofty

Postby Adevilatheart » Thu May 03, 2007 11:45 pm

boys boys boys.. i think every is already starting to write lofty off. and those ids that think its all freaking money that keeps the club winning you are all full of shit.. there are plenty of guys in that team that aren't seen a cent... what alright everyone look hard at there own teams if there isn't 6 players getting paid in each team they are dreaming... lofty only have that maybe 8.. grosser not getting paid... peterson grey from knowledge isnt either..
another point is wet weather is wet weather lofty can mix it up... if you look hard at the game there was a big difference in frees for and frees against not going lofty's way.. lofty controlled that game and a couple of soft decisions cost lofty.. and it was a hard game but a good game 5 points is no margin its still a win loss situation . one bloody kick... so everyone should just look at there own clubs and stop bagging lofty because they have probably one of the best line ups in year up in hills.. its all about club pride fella.. one unit not individuals ...

DA you should incorporate sturt , centals and westies into the mix.. and if you really wanna get into it souths
