The Greatest W.W.T Eagles Player Ever

Postby eaglehaslanded » Fri Aug 10, 2012 5:41 pm

The recent announcement of Justin Cicolella's retirement has prompted me to think about who would be rated as the greatest player of all time at the W.W.T Eagles footy club.

In fairness I have only included those that have played 100+ games for discussion. Here are some that have come to mind.

How do Nick Pesch and Jason Sziller make it onto that list??? Someone actually voted for Pesch over Colvile/McKenzie/Rogers/Sziller.....not sure what they were on

Pesch and Sziller - very good players but not worthy to be up there. Actually I think Sziller only really had one good (maybe two at a stretch) years - 1993 certainly.

Kluzek a bit luck also to be mentioned up there although his stocks would have risen had he been playing under a differnt coach to Fuller who clearly wasn't one of his favourites and probably was a major cause in his retirement (far too early IMO).

Anyway McKenzie has to get the award through his consistency across his whole career and the awards he has received.

i always thought that the player who was the 'greatest' in terms of setting the eagles up as a powerful SANFL club in the early days was peter schwarz.
