It is a pretty even, low scoring battle this year and you could throw a blanket over the top half a dozen to determine who will win it. It is as even as it has been in a while now.

Justin is 4 goals clear of West's Brad Fisher, who kicked 3 today, while Sturt's Tim McIntyre is 5 behind but plays tomorrow against the Panthers down at Noarlunga.

North Adelaide's Lewis Johnstone is certainly up there as well, kicking just 1 major today while South's Michael Wundke kicked 5 last week and plays tomorrow also.

2012 KEN FARMER MEDAL
Justin Hardy (Central) 40.11
Brad Fisher (West) 36.14
Tim McIntyre* (Sturt) 35.23
Lewis Johnston (North) 34.11
Michael Wundke* (South) 33.9
Roury Kirkby (Glenelg) 32.14
Andrew Ainger* (South) 30.10
Luke Jericho (Norwood) 28.19
Josh Trembath (Glenelg) 25.14
Simon Phillips (Norwood) 24.13

* Still to play in Round 18

Wundke and Fisher have an extra game up their sleeve with South and West having completed all their byes.
Wundke looks to have the biggest challenge playing the Top 4 all in a row.
I think it will come down to Jericho and Hardy

Jim - why wouldn't Johnston be a chance? He is a couple of goals ahead of Fisher and if you compare West's game plan to North's, Johnston will have tons more chances to get the ball where as Fisher is almost starved for big portions of matches when Collins employs his favourite tactic.

Never said he wasnt a chance.
I just think Jericho and Hardy will fight it out.
To me averages mean a lot and Johnston has played 5 more games than Wundke or Jericho yet is tied with Wundke and 4 infront of Jericho, if they all get their average for remainder of the season then Wundke wins.
Norwood seem to have the easier draw on paper and it wouldnt surprise me to see Jez get a bag against South or Glenelg. North looks to have a more difficult draw. Reckon the winner will kick 50-52

The draw is harder for North - of course it would be compared to Norwood who of course by virtue of being top play sides all below them!

Mind you apart from the Dogs match North also play 3 sides below them and all winnable games but we are talking North Adelaide here and we have lost to those teams previously this year including twice to Port.

BUT I do agree Jericho is in the box seat to win it.

I was under the impression Johnston spent a bit of time down back in the early part of the season (first time we played North he certainly did), and if thats the case that would make his average a bit misleading.

Yeah cheers, thought as much .. Even though we got up comfortably at the Parade I thought he played well back there, and certainly at Prospect he was a constant threat and IIRC kicked some important/lucky goals ;)

Justin Hardy with a handy lead would have to be bookies favourite at this stage, with the leading contenders Tim McIntyre and Lewis Johnson both being a chance to being called up to the Crows with Ian Callinan's poor form over the recent weeks and Tippett still missing.

I don't think Johnston will get called up to replace Callinan! Not sure even Sanderson with his flair will play a 6ft 4inch tall flanker / fwd pocket goal sneak alongside the likes of Walker / Jenkins and Tippett as tall options!

But then again you described Cicca as the best ever WWT player so what would I know?

40 goals after round 19 and to think Ken kicked 23 in one game.

Did Ken play a few games as a back up ruckman?

Don't ask Sheik Yerbouti what he thinks about the Farmer Files!

In fact we should ask him to do a book review!
