Was a super game of footy... hard and tough early and close all day.... Really looked like boiling over a few times early - umpires probably should've taken an opportunity to clamp it out but let it go and ended up with D Motlop being carded - nice example being set for his team....

Nice example of the Umpires trying to be heroes and breaking up scuffles, instead of paying a free or balling it up and getting on with the job.

only seeing the incident from blue eyes i see.
Motlop was only retaliating after one Imps player whos name i will not mention tried to pull his shoulder out of joint (much like the C Judd "Chicken Wing" incident).
i say poor form on the Imps players behalf and as you mentioned not setting a good example for his team, this does not set a good example for the comp.

It's more a case of if you can't hack the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Motlop and co get more attention etc from umpires and opposition due to their profiles; right or wrong! If they cannot act appropriately in a country football match where the pressure is far less than that of the MCG then too bad.

So Champ do you consider a player deliberately targeting a strapped shoulder ala Chris Judd chicken wing as acting appropriately??? I did not see the incident but if someone went at my injured shoulder i don't think it take it too well either.

Either way a cracking match and nice little rivalry built up between the two sides over the last two meetings. Look forward to seeing a finals match up and another cracking match.

Think we're talking about two differnt things here, yeah if a bloke straps up and declares himself fit then test him out. BNot a chicken wing (Im hungry again now)!
All Im saying is Motlop should be able to handle those situations a lot better than to retaliate stupidly and be sent off - lets be bloody honest!

I think you must of seen.a different fight guys. Motlop was outside the scuffle and ended up going in an hitting an imps player once which got him the yellow card and speaking with Mick Nottle post match he has asked Imps for Video footage as he was slightly blind sided, by the way mick spoke motlop may be up for a few games as he said it was a elbow to the head of jamie honner.
The incident of the chicken wing was a fair tackle by adam davey and motlop ended up running straight through him 50m off the ball!
As a supporter i cant wait for when these teams face up in finals. Would hate to be playing as it will be a very fiery contest

So footy wiz that sounds like three completely seperate incidents in one game which makes Motlop a peanut; can anyone close to him let him know he's slowly but very surely pissing his AFL coaching dream away however a birdie tells me that's not even on his radar lately. He's more concerned with his immediate future and where the $$$$ will come from next season.

For sure, I also can't wait for these teams to play each other again in finals, I believe it's 2 all in recent times. Nice rivalry building I'd say

Would be interested to know what posters have thought of the form of Pech, Harvey and Thomas at Mannum this year.
All where resonable players in the BLG but not worth the money they hace been alleged to have recieved at Mannum.

Seem to rely to much on these guys,Think Pechie,Harvey and Ribbons have already signed for next year if that answers your question. Browny was spewing when he heard Ribbons signed since they work together. Not sure on Thomas but didn't make himself available for the inter league game but looks rock solid in defense.

Any word if Motlop is up before the Panel, I've seen more discipline from an alcoholic with a slab of draught in front of him than Motlop seems to show at times.

Motlop was given a yellow card Saturday due to a scuffle he was involved in, which had a lot of players from both teams in it, so not sure what you blokes are getting at about a report, the 10 minutes he was off the field really hurt the team and he is well aware of that..

Pech, Harvey and Thomas have all been solid contributors. Pechy and Diddles both played association weekend and were in the better players. Pechy gets tagged almost every week but still gets his 30+ and 2 goals. Thomas has been solid in defence and doesn't get beaten 9/10 times. They are the better players in a struggling team at the minute and the Roos faithful would love them to hang around.

well i have been away for a while and as you all would have missed me i feel as though i should set you straight on the Pech harvey thomas question. I have watched Mannum play 3 times only this year, but i can say the following with conviction , 1) harvey gets the ball a lot but his disposal skills are terrible and lets them down going forward time and time again, he is also very slow and will only be exposed more in finals sorry final. 2) Pech,, outside player very few contested ball posetions but can run all day must be respected and the one to keep next year. 3) thomas ,, very unfit stands in the one spot most of the time providing no rebound at all , for a big bloke very soft at the footy and fantastic kick when he does get it without pressure. In summery if the $500 per game each thats been talked about then Mannum are definately getting a bad deal non of them are worth that amount not even Pech and if Mannum are to be competetive next year they have some tough decisions to make. The amount of money could only be a rumour but did come from reliable source.

surely not that would be theft , seriously i heard from very good source $500 , i know what we pay some absolute game changes and thats around the mark but they are not at that standard and i would not think mannum would or could pay that .

Harvey though a 3 time mail medalist isn't he? I would imagine for him to go to mannum it would be more but maybe not. Perhaps some of the BL&G boys might be able to enlighten us
