Next time we play Centrals we're gonna call it a trial game, we win those....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

There is allot of heartbreak and very little reward being a Glenelg diehard.
And we still usually get bigger BANDWAGON crowds at home & away games than CD do.

The win was great to get on the week but more importantly i think it showed up a few things that had been going wrong.

No matter what, the club now has to continue on playing the 2 ruckmen whether that is a combination of Hannath/Milne/Sutherland/Wilson/Claughton. Hardy looks so dangerous up there and at one stage we had 17 scoring shots from 20 inside 50's. We are alot more threatning with him up there, he doesnt get smaller as the game goes on either.

Having the pace of Habel and OBrien in the side was great. Throw Barmby into the side and we are a whole lot quicker all over the park. I love both the Gowans as much as anyone but i think the time has come for them to play mainly as small forwards and then cameos in the midfield at crucial times. James is so clever around goals and always seems to bob up by himself 30-35 out from goal.

Hopefully Yves isnt out for to long. I though Hynes was fairly good, a couple of Kirkbys goals came from dubious type free kicks. He also kicked what 3? in the last when the game was already over. Considering Kirkby kicked 5 the last we played them and on that day we had Goodrem dropping in the whole to help out Hynes effort wasnt to bad.

Hammers, the guy on Roy's left might have been his doctor...

After seeing Lairdy was sick i thought maybe it had something to do with that, whether he was taking messages/ writing notes etc etc.

He was kitted up in the full Central gear, never seen him before though.

Another disappointing result- never in the game after quarter time.

Centrals dominated the middle- and once in their forward line they set up very well to stop it coming out.

Kirkby was the only forward who looked threatening. Hitchcock on Thomas- a mismatch of epic proportions...

Thought Agnew tried hard.

Ah well on to next week.

Ive been super impressed every time I see him play .. Ditto for Hardy

Jack is 21 years old and is a good size at 200cm and 90kg (according to the Budget - I think he may be 5 or 6kg heavier than that?)

Has come on in leaps and bounds in the last 2 or 3 years, especially once he got over the disappointment of not getting picked up in the draft a few seasons ago.

He was a string bean ruckman at Under 18 level, represented SA and back then, to my knowledge, was being closely looked at by Hawthorn and North Melbourne.

Has improved his work rate around the ground, sharpened the skills up and now he has beefed up a bit, doesn't back out of winning his own footy.

I'd suspect AFL clubs would be having another look at him and with taking on the responsibility of leading the ruck, that challenge has seen Jack vastly improve.

Shutup Phil.....He's crap.

Bring him to Catland!

Terry Whitelaw.

Terry is the Strength & Conditioning Coach at the club and has been so for the last couple of years now. His son Tyson played underage with Centrals.

I think this year is the first he has sat in the box, he takes notes down for Roy and gets stats from the Dog's Statisticians to analyse and pass on to Roy.

Terry and his wife often take in new recruits and have them live with them until they find their feet and move out on their own or with fellow team-mates.

Just get a fan to break his leg at half time, it worked a treat at the parade.

Had the binoculars on that - James was p!ssed off with copping a knee in the back and was feeling a little sore - and saw a burly Bays fan giving a bit of lip to him !!!

I was that "Burly" bay supporter on the outerside... Here is what happened.
Gowans went up for a contested ball and went to ground... The umpire ran in and Gowans grabbed his head as if he had been caught high and the umpire awarded a free kick. (I won't go on about the frees he milks each week as that is another topic)

I asked Gowans if he wanted a tissue as they looked like "real tears" and then he just went off..

The guy is a clown.. 5 metres from the boundary and he looks at me and screams "F*ck you!!" as loud as he could. Great look there for the kids that were around. So I offered him more tissues if he really needed them and he screamed at me to come over the fence.. I asked him to come over my side and he sooked it up some more asking me "How many F*cking games have you played?"

I told him it was good that he was concentrating on the game and he eventually stormed off mumbling something to himself.

Seriously, I'm sure he would have copped a bigger spray in his time than someone asking if he wanted a tissue and his behaviour was a joke.

I coulnd't care less if he wants to scream at me, but the kids we had near us and their parents were not happy.

Then to top if off some Centrals bogans decided to try and intimidate us in the last quarter. Once again, doesn't bother me, but made the women and children there very uncomfortable.

I'm not making this a bagging of Central fans and players, but the whole thing was a joke and just backs up the reptuation of their club to other supporters.
