Match Review Panel

Talk on the national game

Re: Match Review Panel

I watched Andrew Carazzo on Before The Game last night, and he made a great point when asked about the MRPs decision on Jack Zeibell.

After the decision, he wrote an article in a Melbourne newpaper defending Zeibell, even though his own team-mate was concussed. Last night when he was asked about the MRP, it seemed like he had backed down from actually saying the decision was wrong, but at the same time said the MRP shouldnt view the incidents in slow motion.

Slow motion replays make most incidents look a lot worse than they actually are, and players dont think or react in slow motion.

Should be interesting from the MRP with Scott Thompson this week :?

Tom Harley on Channel 7 says nothing it it but Wayne Carey on Triple M has crucified him

Good hard players just go with the flo

Soft pansy players will have a whinge

Same goes with commentators, the better commentators think it was OK, the la-de-da type commentators want blood.

I almost thought it looked as though Johnson ran in to hit Thompson and came off second best. I am not sure how this will play out because from the angle I have seen it (and I have only seen one) Thompson looked as though he had his eyes on the ball and Johnson created the impact. I would hate to see him get games for that but the MRP has amazed me all season so he will probably get some. I think that Johnsons head hitting the ground would have caused more damage than the actual hit, but that is just my opinion.

Yeah I'd be worried too. But then again, I can't recall us losing eight games in a row to anyone.

Im with you TSG, does he have a good record? cant seem to think he has been suspended in the last few years?

As for the Glass incident, its almost like he jumped staight up not into Brown in an effort to minmise contact.

I bet Glass gets off. Despite the fact it was nearly the same as the Ziebell call (actually worse as he didnt look at the ball), Browny got up and wasnt concussed. The MRP base all their findings on outcome rather than action....

I think Thompson will be safe, Glass wont be, lucky it was Brown that he ran into though, might of saved him a few weeks.

Glass has a 5 year good record, gets 25% off before it even starts.
