Lofty BELTED Onkas by 70 pts
I think Bridgey got up in a very close one
IB beat Barker
Uris smashed B'wood
Not sure about B'wood v Lobey

Is D. Bartel from Torrens Valley Dave Bartel the former Goodwood and Pooraka player? If so is this his first year at TV? The guy can seriously play, as current form indicates of course.

It's his brother. Not as good as Dave. TV coach tried to buy Dave but had no luck.....and yes he CAN play, but still at Goodwood.

In response to previous posts, I think it is fair to say that Echunga are going to be far better than people, myself included, gave them credit for. Even at this early stage, I'm now of the opinion that they'll finish minor premiers in the Country Division and they've certainly got some very impressive recruits.
Like everywhere else in the Hills on Saturday, conditions were pretty bad at Mount Torrens on Saturday and it's fair to say that there could certainly be some upgrading done of the changerooms there. Maccy did have a few out but then again Torrens Valley seem to have lost a few, including Carter who I didn't notice out there, so it was still a very good performance by Torrens Valley.

How are things going down at Encounter Bay FM?

So are Lofty on the decline or have Onkas moved up this year?

I do recall Onkas getting up over Lofty last year at Balhannah though....... However in the wet Lofty creamed them by over 100 early in the season.

Interesting to see the Dorfers get up too.....

I think if you speak to some at TV, most people would rather play at mt pleasant all year, but they play the opening 3 home games there to keep old Mt torrens people happy. I agree MT facilities are poor ORD's, but Mt Pleasants are pretty good. They would still be better than Gums and Cally. And i won't even mention Bridgewater's, which are at best abysmal, and that's when there not submerged. ( whoops i think i just mentioned them)

Did he go to school there??
Depends what league that's in.
You could expect him to kick a few from CHF if the ball doesn't hit the deck too much.

How has everyones ovals held up after the rain on Saturday? Ironbank held up really well, all dried up and hard again for training last night, not a scrap of mud.

What is Loby like at the moment? I had heard that the surface was not too flash, is that true?

How are things going down at Encounter Bay FM?[/quote]

The bays got off to a great start in winning the first 2 rounds - second game over the triple premiere's Willunga at Willunga before falling to Mypo who were 0-2 going into round 3. Bays had some big outs but Mypo very very good in the wet from all reports and kicked accurately 17.7 (as it reads in the paper)

In Hills news read in the paper this morning that Sturt are going to bid for a new home for Mt Barker FC via the AFL grants program. This will give a new full-time home to the Barks and a hills venue for Sturt. Great move for the league, in the GSFL South do this (play home games) and it is a treat, draws crowds and puts some money into the league.
In the hills case though all the money may go into Mt Barker as it would be there oval, for example SANFL get the gate but Bark's get the food and beverage.

Any thoughts on this boys?

Awesome will be out for a look. The comp will allow people to continue to play footy longer into their careers. Also allowing people who can't play on Saturdays to still have a kick. Great to see the C grade back up and running.
Will Lofty be full of younger blokes up from under 17's who weren't getting a game this year!
Lofty to win the triple with these young legs?

Yeah Wolfie i reckon there will be quite a few young blokes running round for the devs. Some names that will be playing include P.Austin, D.Bennett, T.Maslin, T. Noble, M.Pistola, L. Hanckel, C.Fitzgerald. Look for T.Maslin to dominate the midfield
