Coaching Loxton.
Doing well - will be a shot for the medal.
Seems to be keeping everyone happy at Loxton as a coach so far too.

Won their two games.
Five points over Barmera-Monash.
Then 80 odd points in Anzac Day GF rematch.

Big test will be Waikerie though, they'll play them soon.

Bertie - I see Ben Fisher played for BM on the weekend.
Any chance of him playing out the season with the Roos or was he just up cos Westies had the bye.

What's the story with Mark btw Noonganator?
Valuable player to be missing. Good for the boys to win without him in that mud pile....

Paringa's Colts have picked up about six extra players but still look like forfeiting to Moorook this week.
Probably need at least another eight players.

Sounds like Brown's Well are in a similar position.

Pretty sad to see the Colts competition going down this path.

I think they'll pretty much have the same team as the Cobby game.
I do know they've cleared one new bloke, but unsure whether he's any good or not.
Where will the Crushinator be playing this weekend?

Postby 200 Killer Wasps » Wed May 02, 2007 1:49 pm

Five years ago the Wunkar colts were struggling for numbers instead of pulling the plug on the team the club recruited any under 13 or under 15 who could not get a game for Loxton or Loxton North.

Back then Wunkar's oldest player was still younger than the youngest Paringa colt and yes they got flogged by 40 goals + every week.

The final game that year was against Brown's Well at Wunkar and Wunkar had 27 kids roll up for a game. The Brown's Well coach said let them all play, still got beat by 25 goals but the kids had a ball.

The majority of those kids from five year's ago are still with the club and the Wunkar colts are now a force. It is expected that the majority of them will continue on into A grade ranks. During this time Nathan Brown (Westies) was the leading goalkicker and Michael Ward (Westies) played a number of games as well, both these lads were not getting regular games at the timefor their Riverland club's.

The parents who brought the kids out from Loxton and Loxton North would stay around and watch the A grade and support the Wunkar club.

If wunkar had pulled the pin in 2002 none of the above would have happened

Supa - I remember playing Colts against Wunkar abotu seven years ago and I don't reckon they forfeited then either...that was back when Brett was playing.
They've always managed to stay afloat and look at them now....top of the ladder!

I sent a few under 13s out to help Paringa last week but don't know how they'll go getting under 15s.
