Some of these players must be playing for peanuts, $1M isn't much between 14+ players. Do the franchises pay for accomodation & living expenses?

From the press release:

Ness was among the best for the Brisbane Heat in BBL|01 with the ball taking seven wickets with a strike rate of 18 and economy rate of 7.86, with best figures of 3/31. Not only was he a key contributor with the ball but was also handy with the bat, with a strike rate of 148.65.

Edit: The cynic in me reckons he scored few runs as they haven't put the total in the press release, just his strike rate.

6 weeks from start to finish

December 9th first game, final January 19th. Last minor round game January 12th
July 11th 2012....
