Talk on the national game

Rd 17 Crows V West Coast

A few changes this week with injuries,

Brodie Smith - Ben Rutten - Michael Doughty

David Mackay - Daniel Talia - Brent Reilly

Bernie Vince - Patrick Dangerfield - Nathan van Berlo

Ian Callinan - Josh Jenkins - Chris Knights

Jason Porplyzia - Kurt Tippett - Matthew Wright

Sam Jacobs - Scott Thompson - Rory Sloane

INT
Jared Petrenko - Lewis Johnston - Richard Douglas

SUB
Tom T. Lynch

IN
Kurt Tippett - Jared Petrenko - Lewis Johnston - Michael Doughty

OUT
Henderson (injured) - Martin (Injured) - Shaw (Injured) - Brown

Tippett is a straight swap for Henderson

Petrenko is a straight swap for Martin

Johnston comes in for Shaw. He kicked another 5 goals on the weekend and is showing consistent form so deserves a chance. Lynch was OK last week but I think Johnston would offer more up forward so I would put Lynch as the SUB so he can cover Forward or Back as the 3rd tall with Shaw out of the side

I thought Brown looked good last week but someone will make way for Doughty.

To Tall so Johnston wont come in and Lynch wont be sub

They dont have many tall players NicNat, Cox and Lynch, thats it really. Darling out injured Schofield will probably play FWD

Petrenko in for Martin

Tippet in for Shaw

Doughty for Henderson

Brown keeps his spot

That being the case I would bring Johnston in for Lynch then. With Walker back next week this is a good opportunity to give him a go and see what he's like.

Lynch did enough last week to keep his spot until Walker comes back.

Andy otten will be in for Sam shaw as that third tall in defence. We will need three talks in defence as well. At stages on Saturday west coast will have Cox and Lycett both inside 50

Is Talia good enough to go with Natinui when he goes forward?

maybe. I think Talia will be able to keep up with him inside D50 but if Natinui is moving around I don't think Talia has the motor to go with him.

Other than Talia, I dont think we have a match up for him in our back line

Actually.....I wouldn't be upset if Sando tried Jenkins on him or Cox resting in the forward lines.

I like the named structure with Tippett at CHF, Jenkins at FF, and Johncock in the rotations rather than the back line.

Great win. The tackling and pressure from the start was ruthless. Big Tippo is a bit of a concern maybe give him a rest as we get back Taylor Walker. Next week throws out another challenge against the cats always tough to beat especially at kadinia park.

Couldnt have really asked for a better performance. Tacking pressure was back, skills were A1 and the work rate was fantastic. Big test this week, hardest assignment in AFL.....

Great to see Stiffy back in as well
