Is he really that good that he demands all this attention from other clubs Booney?

I only ask because I've only seen a few games of his this year and he hasn't been great.

The clubs dictate that level of interest and clearly they are interested. Doesn't that reflect his perceived ability?

This year he has had some injury concerns that he carried for a few weeks before he went for surgery.

Just heard hot off the grapevine that Boak has in fact re-signed with Port and there will be a press conference later in the week to officially announce the deal to the AFL world.
You heard it here first, unless I'm wrong in which case I said nothin'!!!

If money is his motivation then he will get a heap more at Port than Geelong

Hope he makes his decision soon, sick of hearing about it and if he doesn't make it soon, drop him, it ain't going to make a difference to Port's season anyway.

Correct, the only person who is enjoying it is Kurt Tippett, takes the media pressure of him why this drags out.

No disrespect to Boak, but surely Tippett would attract more attention of AFL clubs than him, everyone needs a big forward, most teams already have Boak like players.

Not necessarily. We'll have a heap of retirements, plus a heap of players on the veterans list next year. We'll have the space in the cap.

Reb thats what i would have thought. Heaps of remetirements and no gabblet means spare cash.

Just on this how good is Rucci. A few weeks ago he was gone. Today apparently contract talks will be starting up again. Seriously does this guy have credibility left?

Tippetts isn't dragging out. He has made it clear to the club and his management that he doesn't want to talk about it until the end of the season. thankfully everyone is respecting that and he is playing good football.

Boak isn't doing himself any favours. Port really need to take the acting captaincy off of him until he makes a decision. Then from there he really needs to earn some respect back to gain his place in the leadership group again.

Tippett has still played a role, but I would suggest he's been below the form expected of him .. There may be other factors leading to that though (ie, injury)

I do have some sympathy with the position Boak is in, but I think he's had long enough to deal with it now and needs to make a decision known to the people at Alberton within the next week.

Tippett has been down the last couple of weeks due to the 2 concussions that he had. By far a better year than he had last year and will be a massive loss if he decides to leave.

Port should be putting a time frame on it. Their form isn't the best anyway but this cant' be helping them as a club.

You're more than likely correct, even Primus would be getting top-ups from Centrelink.

Wouldnt he have told Port "yeah Im staying" unless he was sure he was going home to Geelong?

Hes not allowed to have an agreement or arrangement with any other club until his current club has played their last game of the year. So even if he was 100% going to Geelong, he couldnt tell anyone. And if he told Port he was leaving, thats as good a telling them he has an arrangement somewhere else.

I think he's made up his mind to leave, but due to the AFLs rules, hes not allowed to announce anything.

How so? Both clubs are paying 100% of their cap. Which also means there are a lot of blokes at Port getting over the odds, thats the system.
