Fantastic game at the den yesterday, very good team Gullies with a host of players who have played a much higher level of footy. Looking forward to seeing them with their "best" team on the park. Finals like intensity and played in great spirit. Thanks to all the Gully faithful who came in for a frothy after the game, some respectful relationships being built amongst the playing groups. I must say that the disciplined rivalry between the 2 clubs that has been built over the past 2 seasons is really what grass roots footy is all about and we certainly hope it can continue into the future. Well done lads.

Spot on Yank man. Bloody good contest yesterday, as you said played in great spirits. Well done to your lads, who deserved the win with a solid 4 quarter effort. Was a nice change in this division to enjoy playing a good solid game of footy, with both sides hitting the contest hard, but without all the argy bargy bs that often arises. Certainly feel that a healthy amount of respect is shared between our sides and very much look forward to our next clash.

NO, he is saying that they know we will clash again. He knows it and we know it. Nothing said about the victor. That will work itself out on the day. And I must say that the healthy respect has been not only gained on the field, but off it as well.

Not what I meant at all supersonicgun, simply saying I enjoyed the contest and look forward to another (whenever that may eventuate) Seems Yank Man had no trouble understanding.

when your a side that has most likely now accepted it wont win a game all year, then I believe that its not possible to measure the performance on whether the game was won or not. Football is not always about winning, or sport in general

at the start of the season where your a side that could hardly kick a point and the opposition a certainty to pile on 30 goals, to now be slotting through 10 goals yourself and making plays from goal line to goal line, that flinders uni coach would be smiling from ear to ear i reckon

the men you see playing for that side are bloody legends, we pumped em by over 25 goals both times and they never dropped there head and never stopped trying. half these blokes id say never played footy before, but theyll stick together through thick and thin

No one forces you to read it. deeman you need to know that Div7 this year has had some very ugly moments, not in the spirit of footy, and clubs are searching for respect for each other. Everyone respects Uni and the way they go about their business. Barat has done a great job under difficult circumstances this year and watching their improvement is something all traditionalists are interested in.

Marbles exactly right the crabs have improved since we played them last and over the last 4 or so weeks have been kicking between 40-50 points a game. We went in the game we wanted them to kick the average they have been but they suprised us with 10 goals. Oval was boggy and ball got heavy.
The players who play for the crabs have a big heart as they never drop there heads and battle a game out right to the end.
I took this weeks game to try certain players in different positions and some spent alot of time on the bench, due to injury and unavailable players. if more were available some would have had week off. We have tough run with Smithfield this week then week after Henley.
Good news is Micky G could be back in 2/3 games also another 2/3 players aswell.
