another good win boys, although we missed out on one quarter and nearly paid the price it was a hard fought win.. back on top!

Look forward 2 next time we play u guys. Was a fairly even match where both teams had chances to win. Unfortunately for us we couldnt hold on in the last 1/4

I know Hope Valley are beating teams this year, but how close were they to losing a spot in the Div 6 league. Only really by default that they stayed up. Wouldn't be too proud of a club that should be in Div 3 or 4.

Firstly Sharky, when another team cheats like the Eagles did last year - not once, but twice against us, they do not deserve to stay in our division. We deserve to stay there based on that. In Div 6 last year there were only a few points separating the 9th placed team and sides that played in finals.
Whether we are in Div 3 or 4 or Div 6 - we have a bloody good club, and I am proud to be playing there - maybe you should come out and see what we have got - you'd be suprised!

Everyone at Hope Valley are working as hard as we can to get our club into the best division possible. Unfortunatly over the years we have had too many people sit back and critisise (like you sharky) instead of putting in the work. I believe we are heading in the right direction and the best way to do that is win games of football like Sharky pointed out.

Hope Valley would nearly have a full side of ex junior players playing in div 1 and div 2 and the hills league currently that could easily get the club back up to the higher divisions it should be playing in. When they're 16 or 17 the league clubs push them away from the lower ranked clubs when they don't get selected or if they have a bye and they never come back. Then they develop the "you're in too low a division" mentality, not realising that if they stuck around and played, the club could get higher up and be able to keep these young guns coming through the ranks in the future.

It would only take a few of these young kids to realise this and come back and the last 5 or 6 years would have been a whole lot different. I know that Gepps Cross, Broadview and Birdwood to name a few would be different sides if they lost all their ex Hope Valley boys. Hopefully this year we can push for div 5 and who knows, you might see some old faces start to return. It would be a hard train to stop once it got going...

...and don't worry sharky, we're proud of our club no matter what division we play in!!
