Yep before this season he was ordinary.

Come finals if Central play against Norwood if your betting man put your house on Paul Thomas to play a defensive forward role on him.

Will be interest to see how his skills under pressure hold up if that situation arises.

Has been very good this season though and was very good on the weekend against Centrals.

I thought there was a chance we might have seen that on Sunday, again, Roy always leaves options up his sleeve for the business end (not that our club wouldn't be expecting it I would think)

No one likes to see their team losing and it was frustrating Sunday watching nothing really been done about Terlich i think Goodrem went to him for half a quarter but that was about it. The thought was at the ground Lairdy was slightly experimenting/letting things go longer than he normally would.

I think Lairdy would have learnt a fair bit about how Terlich wants to play and how Norwood want to use him. As you said Norwood will expect Lairdy to put some more time into him come finals and i think it will most likely be Thomas if not Goodrem who plays are real tight tag on him.

Does anyone know his background in footy before he came to South?

Played TAC in Melbourne without getting drafted. Played for Belconnen in the ACT and was the league leading goalscorer each season. I don't think he will be drafted.

Cant believe Centrals let him play on evertytime from the kick in, thought after the first 4 or 5 they would have realised he kept playing on to the same side

Agree was a nightmare to watch and was so obvious.

I live in hope Lairdy was allowing it to happen so he could have a better understanding on how to combat it later in the season. ;)

These guys aren't necessarily most improved types, but they are players who didn't appear to have a heap of fanfare about them, but have impressed me everytime I've seen them play, and that's Joel Tippett and Lewis Johnstone.

I think it's only the depth and health of the list at the Crows that's prevented Johnstone getting a run with them, and it seem's a no-brainer for me that the Crows should be looking at trying to secure Joel Tippett in the off-season - in fact I'd think the Power would be eyeing him off too.

Jai Bednall, from the Sunday Mail, thinks that Bulldog Justin Hardy is the SANFL's most improved player this season...

Jai Bednall, in his Match Review, wrote:So (Justin) Hardy took over.

The most improved player in the SANFL this season kicked 4.2 in the third quarter as the Dogs stretched their lead to 55 points.

Hardy would finish with seven, to take a five goal lead in the race for the Ken Farmer Medal.
