joel kimber from what i understand there was a bit of niggling back and forth all day, ellis went to push off kimber to lead and his hands slipped high of his chest and he pushed him in the face when kimber returned to man up he just swung and connected breaking ellis's jaw, it will be interesting to see what happens as no umpires saw it so probably would be difficult to take any further, it just looks bad on our league and willunga seem the main offenders with genners hitting that bloke from strath a year or so ago being the last serious off ball incident i can remember...

mclaren only have them selves to blame missed 4 or 5 easy shots at the start of the third had control of the game, then willunga booted 8 in a row in the last 10 mins of the third to blow the game open

You don't have to be able to fight to land a punch.
Must have got him a beauty though.

Some close results on the weekend. Creeks and bays game must have been a beauty looking at the scores at each break. That win should help the creek get a top 3 spot. Again as mentioned all the teams fighting for that elusive 5th spot lost again on the weekend. I think it will end up being mclaren's as they have already played willunga and enc bay above them should have the easier run home.
Strath v goolwa game was a real hard fast game. Goolwa got the jump early in the 1st qtr but strath slowly fought there way back in to the game, with it being a tight last half strath probably having a bit more pace around the ground. Goolwa kicked a couple late in the last qtr a few more mins and they might have had it. Couldn't believe how big goolwa's new full forward was smith (a tank) pretty hard to move. Goolwa after getting a fair few new players in the last 2 years would be pretty disappointed after a good start to the year. Not sure on your thoughts 'lf' but harvey doesn't seem to be dominating as much as previous years. He is still a player everyone would love to have, but in previous years when we would pump the bays by 20 odd goals he would still kick a few and mark everything that come his way. Not sure maybe less space then the big bay ground, or different fwd structure at goolwa?

Harves loses about 15 goals because he doesnt play us. I have been impressed with him, has the best work rate. With Mickan and Harvey we needed to work on a system. Add Smith to the mix and its a powerful forward line. Just needs more time to gel and delivery to these guys I wouldnt rate as all that good. If we kicked it properly to these guys they are all capable of big bags.

This time last year I would have taken 4-7 (including 4 losses under 30 points) and 2 games out of the 5 at this point because I reckon we were 0-11 this time last year, but would have liked to have consolidated on the good start.

Anyone know what the end result was with the Kimber striking incident??
Did it end up going to the tribunal and how if the umpires didn't see it??

yeah should be a great round

Big test for strath after putting together 3 in a row but creek should be too good.

McLaren need to get their season back on track and they should against GPE but no certainty. A win to GPE would keep their hopes of pinching 5th a boost.

Compass v pongy - flip a coin???

Bays should be too good for Victor who seem to have lost their way. Will need to find some form to give the Bays a push.

Yank v willunga. Lots to learn here with yank going along quietly but sitting equal top with willunga with 1 loss. Lots of talent at the tigers but I like the look of the more settled demons. Guest appearances by Weatherald, Labastida and now Lohde - strange way of doing things IMO.

Lang Creek by 38 pts over Strath Creeks won by 32

E. Bay by 46 pts over Victor Harbor Bays won by 52

Yankalilla by 9 pts over Willunga Willunga won by 2

All games went pretty much to the script. Creeks and Bays asserting the superiority after 1/2 time for confortable wins.
The other 3 games were all predictably close.

the wash up from R12 sees Willunga take back Top spot and would be faves to hold on to it now. Creeks still breathing down the Bays back waiting for a slip up to take 3rd from them.
McLaren have wrapped up 5th spot with a nail biter over Goolwa/ Pt. Ellliot who go down by a kick for the 2nd week in a row.

You could say that mclarens were lucky but if we can't kill a game with 17 seconds left, in the mud, with a boundary throw in on the wing then we don't deserve it. We should have had 10 players at that contest diving on the ball. Holding the ball against would have been better than a free clearance.

Great goal to win though. I presume the bloke that kicked it was a natural lefty? Hit it sweetly with a wet ball

Not for the 1st time this season either.

Creeks will be very keen to avenge their contoversial 1 pt loss to McLaren earlier in the season at the Creek this week to keep the pressure on the Bays.
The task will be made tougher by the absence of Kellock, Derham and Johnson who will be Representing S.A. country next week in Wagga.

I think it might be something to do with how early the results are put on Sporting Pulse, which is where I believe the Sunday Mail source the results from.

Could have something to do with the edition you have. Pretty sure there's a country and a metro edition.

Mclaren VERY lucky to get away with the points on the weekend...Paul Smith used to be quite the handy player in his early days but looks a good 30kgs overweight and half the player he used to be. I hope he isnt being paid much coin out there. Got a bit smart in the last quarter when lining up for goal...turned out to be a bit early for that!

He's a bit under done. Kicked 5-5 on his first outing v vh and Got an injury v Willunga after he'd kicked 4-2 and one in to the man on the mark in a half. Was on target for 8 + that day. We had a chance to grab him after round 4 and at that stage we were using stuff all points do we grabbed him. I reckon he'll be pretty valuable. When we work out the combo of harves and smith it's pretty a dangerous forward line
