Current virus threat..

Postby GWW » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:48 am

There is apparently a current virus threat.

Something to do with the FBI no longer providing protection against a virus created by cyber crooks.

There is a link that can used to check whether your computer is at risk, although when I checked this morning it indicated that that assurance wasn't completely fool proof.

I'm posting this on my phone so can't provide a link, but the link can be accessed by going to the channel 7 SUNRISE website.

I think the protection offered by the overseas authorities ceases around 1:30pm (SA time), so anyone wanting to check this, only has a few hours to do so.

Those on here who are more IT savvy than me may have some better and clearer information.

Same site essentially.

Telstra has identified 6500 people with it out of their millions of customers. They've taken steps to inform people about it.
