BMI calculators...

I'm short and heavy and definitely a little overweight but my reading is 34 which means I'm in the category of OBESE!

To get to a "healthy weight" I'd need to drop down to 66Kgs, I'm currently 92...

What a crock!!!
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Its just a guide and not always accurate unless you have skin fold tests, etc taken into account. My BMI guide says anything ovet 106kgs is obese and anything over 88kgs is overweight which would be spot on depending on how much muscle I build. Under the standard guide most athletes would be classed as overweight because of the muscle they have.

So a question on this then. Can you be knocked back for a job on the basis of high BMI?

Jobs like defence force jobs have a BMI limit you must be under, but im not sure if they take skin folds into the equation. BMI is a joke! I hate it! Im in the same boat as you, I get told im obese. I know i'm over weight, but I dont think i'm obese, and its not like im not active! A game of Rugby League and Aussie Rules each weekend, plus training keeps me fit enough I think!

... now im cranky too!

Given I had ~ $4800 taken out of my tax for HECS that I finished paying six years ago I'm expecting a $5500 return this year.

If I was smart/diciplined I'd have that money put in an interesting baring acoount each fortnight rather than going to the ATO but we'd find reasons to spend it. This way we have a forced saving plan which each year covers: rates, 12 months car rego, a couple of Gs of the intrest free card and Xmas taken care of. Beauty!!!

Seriously if your paying HECS/HELP now keep paying it once you finish paying it off. It's money you've never had to spend before (so you don't miss it) and it makes Tax time very rewarding!!!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
