Good coaches can get average players who play well as a team to win , there are a few clubs who have fantastic players that do not play well as a team and are not winning. The pressure is now firmly on the great man collo as he has inherited so many great players who are now 0 point recruits or at least low points he has the best juniors in the league ( arguably in the state ) just handed to him and now with hall just walking in they are a state team within a team , Collo could probably go to the snow for a few weeks off now as froggy could coach this group. Really undecided about this???

:-@ :ymsick: Imps are a great side mate but not as great as you think they are. I think the Tanunda's, Willunga's, Uraidla's would comfortably dismantle this state team you speak of, and probably the top 3-4 in the SFL (though I don't consider them country). It would be great to get rid of the representative weekend and make the top country teams from around the state to play one another. It will never happen though.

I'm assuming seems as he has just apparently walked into the club that he wouldn't be getting paid either right? ;)

I will say it once again so the people that missed it can see it again (used to be)

Hall was not chased mid season! Change of jobs has made his chances of playing the season out in SANFL. Imps chased him in the summer, but at the moment he is not working with a senior player from imps and needs to play footy somewhere so why not at Imps. Yeah I'm sure some coin will be throw his was but I think every club would through a little bit of coin to a key position SANFL player.

And about the best team in the state that is a long way off.... In my last year playing I remember Fielke saying that this club in the next few years with the juniors coming through and the culture being build that it will become a powerhouse in country football and I would say the club is almost at that point.
In 3 Seasons-
A grade - 12 (representives in Zone footy) 2 premierships 2 mail medalists
And out of that we have now 3 in the SA country squad and one who will be captain.

But along way off being the best team in country SA

Footy wizz you are a unit at no time did i brag about being the best team in the state , please read again. If it came across that way it was not the intention . I will say again just for you , Hall is the icing on the cake and as i said i / we love winning , i can already see someones son who is going to miss out when we would have more than likely won the gf easily anyway thats the only issue i have as there are too many missing out now. . They are the facts.

Hall has been considering playing at Imperials for the past three years and signed preseason so it could hardly be seen as last minute recruiting. Given Smith is the only other recruit for the year I dont think Imps could be accused at going over the top in recruiting.
As far as where the team itself stands in relation to other competitions. Even though I love the beloved Blues they would not get within 15 goals of the current Mt Barker team and that would be on a good day. Imperials may have 8 or 9 high quality players. Mt Barker have 21!! The same could be said of the top teams in the Southern and Great Southern Leagues.

once again why are all other supports hating on hales and tonks?
clearly they are still playing just not finding the best form in the game atm,
it's not the easy to just walk into a team at the age of 19 and be the best player ever!

River Murray Football League talk

Postby grasshopper22 » Sun Jul 08, 2012 4:22 pm

Good game of footy at Meningie yesterday, the bears were well and truly in control at half time, and got completely blown off the park in the second half, full credit to ramblers they are a very good side and Liam oneil especially tore us to shreds, bit of a reality check for the bears and will definately be looking to bounce back this wk after such a disappointing loss

Lots of scoring shots in Meningie v Ramblers game, good footy. Good promotion of RMFL footy, well done boys.

Looking at the ladder, big gap between Meningie, Tailem and Jervois. Looks to be a very interesting finals series. Bar major injury to the top 5 teams its going to be interesting.

Jokes aside. The Roos got blown away and need a miracle to turn it around. Didn't help playing with 17 for entire second half but that's football and regardless, Imps were too good and will be premiers 2012.

Mannum were just not up to it yesterday, and based on that performance will struggle to make finals at all. It was simply boys verse men . Hall was a great inclusion and was not mentioned in the best as to not draw attention to him. It was a dissapointing day even though we smashed the roos. As i stood with about 5 other imps supporters in the cold watching a hapless game i became aware of the lack of people at the ground , there was no atmosphere and spaces everywhere you look what is going on imps supporters get behind this team as they will win the gf in a canter. A bit of light hearted comedy though that was in contrast to the rest of the game, magnificant to watch was the inclusion of the 19th man as Mannum had only 16 men on the oval at 1 stage and 17 for most of the game. It is written on the second sheet of iron fourth flute in , left there by Tony Fielke just in case in the imperiels coaches box. If the game is in duobt at any stage as it was in the first quater read this , Collo slid his girth along the bench looked up and there it was , immediately he sent out the runner and within seconds the plan was put into action. The 19th man came running from the opposite end of the ground blew the whistle and there it was a holding free to imps in the goals on the line magnificant work .But there was still more work to do as Mannum went forward and got another goal , immediately in the action again the 19th man blew the whistle a 50 meter penalty this time in front of goal again through it went the quater was then over . Immediately in the second quater another 50 meter penalty another goal and the 19th mans work was done. This had broken Mannums heart and on top of that played with 17 men. Unfortunately for Mannum you are only playing for fifth or sixth.

the way it started they prob shouldn't have either. Bears just stopped. Chooks did play well to claw their way back and the big names fired when they needed too

winning evry game and winning most of the flags in the next ten years becomes boring for others, hence why your probaly not getting good crowds

At Mannum you would not know about that. Winning grand finals is never boring you should try it some time, i am only stating the lack of support at imperials, it was a bit scary in the rooms after very few there , lets get behind the blue boys.

Suck it up hazel jnr if you spent more time thinking about the upcoming game and less about the Mannum under 16's girls Netball side, you might get a kick or 2 and take the heat off....
