I didnt know the guys name and didnt know he would be umpiring but my opinion of the way and the standard of his umpiring remains the same (and I am clearly not alone).
You are correct in saying the he had no influence on yesterdays results Unley B grade were far too good which makes his standard of umpiring even more obvious, an arguement could be made that the free kick he pays are all there (so how can he be considered a cheat) my issue is that he only see's and therefore pays the free kicks for Unley he does not see or pay a free kick for the opposition even when it happens in front of him and yet he spots a free for Unley from the back side of the square at full forward and awards it from 70m away , unnecessary and frustrating which therefore frustrates players and opposition supporters who all start to mouth off and away he goes again free kick 25m penalty more penalties more frustration..... if this is not considered as cheating the it must be living next door because its close.
Congratulations to the man as he obviously is a good club person
I would like to know the win/loss ratio on his 650 games that might make very interesting reading

I honestly thought his display yesterday was pretty decent. And whilst our B Grade are very average due to clear in-experience and youth, Unleys B Grade are quite simply outrageous! They are the best reserves side I have ever seen.

Have to say that I am not looking forward to visiting Jet park this Saturday ...they must be smok'n ATM

I am looking forward to seeing the antics of their B grade ump (if its the same bloke) last year he tried to send our B grade coach from the coach's box to the car park ..... wasn't till the SAAFL appointed umpire for the A grade match who was watching had a word with him that he relented....... what a k... ahhh interesting individual.

I look forward to the clash of intellects between our club prez and him if he tries his antics on again

I know some umpires just aren't good, that's just a fact of lower level footy. At least they give it a crack. But Unley's B grade ump is by far the dodgiest (without using the C word) going about....

Mossy officiated at his 650th game yesterday. I think it's a bit rich to cast such derogatory accusations at any individual tho, general discussion is just acceptible but singling people out is, well,... libel. Regardless of your opinion, umpiring decisions couldn't have accounted for yesterday's reserves scoreline.

i remember playing when he was umpiring one day, i got a free kick against me (till this day i have no idea what for). i asked what for and then he proceeded to give me a 50m penalty... he always seems to give some very interesting decisions when games are tight ....

Now that is funny!! I think he was decent yesterday cos I shook his hand pre-toss and congratulated him on umpiring his 957,000th game to which he had a chuckle.

Agreed. Elizabeth FC are the most respectable club I have played against. We have belted the Hell out of each other for years and no matter the result the club is all class on and off the field.

That guy is a dead set ch..... advantage.. to Unley's B grade which is sad for them because they are a great side and don't need their games spoilt by him week in and week out. It's about time someone got some balls and kindly asked him not to umpire so people can start talking about how well skilled and well drilled and how well they are performing as a team rather than the dodgy bloke with the beard paying free kicks from a rule book that he has self-penned....

Premiers: 2-3 sides are a genuine chance. Id like to think we are one of them. Final standings will determine alot. Example: I rate Scotch but cant't see them doing it unless they get the double chance.

Top 5: Unley, GG, SW, Scotch, Hectorville

Demoted: Para Hills and Elizabeth

Medal: Perrie. I honestly have no idea though. The old argument is that umpires don't 'see' the whole game to make a good call. The fact is, playing ruck, around the umpires and the ball alot, takes lots of contested makrs, plus being a known player Means he will attract votes. I expect he will get alot of 3 votes when Pultney win and alot of 1-2 votes in games they lose. From our Club, Shep would be the best chance. Has already got 2 medals. Long blonde locks and a big arse helps to stand out
