Round 14 Norwood vs Sturt

Postby topsywaldron » Sun Jul 01, 2012 8:06 pm

Norwood lucky for the eleventh time this year, Sturt robbed apparently. Angry scenes at the end of the game. :D

Dean Terlich played a blinder in front of his adoring supporters.

Sturt lost it through poor kicking and a poor last 5 mins of the game.

Umpiring left a fair bit to be desired on both sides of the ledger.

Sturt lost it in the first qtr when they kicked 1.6, if it was 5.2 or 6.1 it is on the way to a good win.

That Norwood supporter at the end of the game standing on the race waving the flag was an idiot, very lucky that security got to him in time.

Umpiring was the worse i have seen for a long time. How can a decision in the 2nd qtr for a obvious holding the ball gets turned over to a high tackle had me bemused. Was good to see the dive get rewarded for free kicks.

Re-read of the rule books i say Umpires.

Not this year. Having the wife and kids at the game limits the opportunities... ;)

Good hard fought game I thought. Shows Sturt could be worthy of a finals berth should they continue with that level of intensity for the rest of the season.

Was the Sturt guy going to slap him with his bus pass?

I'm not sure Norwood supporters should really be acting smug or mouthing off too much (especially the fool with the flag at the end), considering the effort they put up today and the gifted ride they got from the umpires, 8-1 frees in the 3rd quarter most inside 50? Give me a break. Too many decisions to mention today that were baffling and inept.
I doubt Bassett will be at all happy with the game either. Norwood were very lucky today and last week.
Sturt should've put the runs on the board early and failed to do so but overall a great effort by the team today and proud of them despite battling the umpires also.
To the peanut standing on the players race with the flag, if you incite the crowd by giving the finger, telling everyone around you to f-off, p-off and generally abuse them then you want to take a good look at yourself and stop your crying to WESLO if you get a bit ruffed up. Grow up and learn how to be gracious in a very fortunate win. You're a disgrace.

Before one of the beer cans being thrown at him by the Sturt supporters hit him?

No mention of the Sturt supporters standing on the race a minute before abusing the umpires like a bunch of monkeys?

How dare a supporter stand and wave his teams flag!

Good game, fiercly competitive and will definately be some sore guys tonight.
Game was spoilt by 1 umpire in particular who missed the blatant stuff and then seconds later would pay a baffling free, when players from both sides look at each other and dont know which way the free has gone says alot about this guys umpiring. Thought 2 of the 3 umps were not too bad.
Very lucky and happy to get a win at a venue we struggle at against probably the best lineup that Sturt could produce.

That free was right infront of me, the first tackle was correctly rewarded with holding the ball, the ball spilled loose in the tackle and I think it was Batsanis who picked it up next thing a Sturt player runs in and gives him a forearm to the chops so he reversed the decision. I did think the first decision would have stood

i have a feeling that Sturt are starting to turn the corner with the play the Seamus is wanting.

Norwood wouldnt want to play like that again next week, Centrals will over run them.

Given the team we had I was proud of the effort we put up today, obviously that's wrong though.

How about looking at your positives?
You did beat Centrals a couple of weeks ago at the same venue.
Thought you guys played well today but poor finishing in the first quarter cost you victory, to be smashed in that 1st quarter and still walk in less than a goal down was a huge boost of spirits for the guys.
If you play like that every week you will definately win more than you lose

This tool stood behind me today-not only did he have a BIG flag to compensate for his lack of testosterone but he also had a foul mouth and no respect for anyone, not even his own team when they were behind on the scoreboard. What an embarassment to the NFC
