Another terrible magpie performance, the scoreline flattered us. We were crap all day, didn't work hard enough, terribly skilled, the amount of west players who spent the whole day with no magpie near them was laughable. Is Gray injured? If not, why the hell is he stuck in the forward pocket the whole game? We had no structure today, west moved the ball after a port behind too easily, they constantly had numbers around the pack that we didn't....

Dont start slagging the other teams to much N78, it will turn around and bite you on the bum, cos if you do, you have to stick around when it comes your way.

Have a good game tomorrow.

Ports skills not good enough under pressure, and not enough guys who break a line. Regardless of the result, Beard, Harder and Raikiwasa all look AFL prospects

If today's match had been between remotely exciting, I probably would not have turned off the box at half time and my lawn would not have been mowed.

So I vote for more West games. Next time I might get some odd jobs done around the house...

Just a terrible, terrible game of football. West were awful. Port were a disaster. Its correct that the scoreline flattered us. Despite the margin being within a kick or two for pretty much the entire game, I never felt at any stage we could get over the line and win the match. None at all. Might as well have been a 10 goal margin the whole day as there was next to no chance of Port finding a teammate more than twice in a row before turning it over.

The defence worked reasonably well. Beard and Raisiwaka were good, Slattery was alright. the midfield was well beaten. The forward line was non existant, but I wont be too harsh on the forwards. You're gonna struggle to win when you have the ball constantly kicked to the advantage of your opponent. So many genuine leads with kicks that forced the player to prop, stop and attempt to mark in a pack that should have been a lace out kick in front.

The crowd. Well, by far the lowest crowd ive ever seen at Alberton. I dont know what the official figure is, but if its more than 1000 then someone has fabricated the figure. The atmosphere was more akin to watching lawn bowls which was probably fair enough as this was right up there with the worst games of football ive had the displeasure of watching. Port will win the spoon, mark it down.
