Round 14 Trades, Teams and Discussion

Postby Squids » Mon Jun 25, 2012 1:52 pm

The bye rounds are over :partyman:

I have to get rid of Horsley before he plummets in price. Only option looks to be Gibson at the moment even though he will probably get dropped soon, with any luck that won't matter.

Next week if Giles to Maric
and perhaps Carrazzo in for Lake

Talking DT there, Lake annoys me, he is always on 30 at QT then spuds it up for the rest of the game.

I just had a look at the Bulldogs fixture, I would not be surprised if they didn't win another game for the year.

Breaking news: Clark to miss rest of season

THE MELBOURNE Football Club wishes to advise that Mitch Clark will miss the remainder of the 2012 season after injuring his foot against the GWS Giants.

Scans undertaken today have confirmed a ‘Lisfranc’ tear of the right foot. The injury occurred in a marking attempt during the second quarter of Sunday’s game at the MCG.

Melbourne Football Manager Josh Mahoney said: “This is incredibly unfortunate for Mitch and for everyone involved with the Club.”

“His leadership and influence on the group - on and off the field - has been outstanding since arriving at the Club.

“The club will now investigate the best course of action to repair and rehabilitate Mitch’s injury. We want to ensure he has a smooth return to football in 2013.

Some people did really well over the Bye rounds, either through good prior planning, or by aggressive trading.
Others did well, either bye poor prior planning, or not trading.

I have just the six trades left, and barring injuries/long suspensions to my players, my supercoach will be staying as is:

DEF: Scott D Thompson, Marty Clarke, Shaun Burgoyne, Tyson Goldsack, Corey Enright, Tomas Bugg, Ryan Hargrave
Bench: Steven Morris, Jed Bews
MID: Brent Stanton, Josh P. Kennedy, Brock McLean, Bryce Gibbs, Gary Ablett (C), Brendon Goddard
Bench: Scott Pendlebury, Devon Smith
RUCK: Ivan Maric, Mike Pyke
Bench: Jonathon Giles, Orren Stephenson
FWD: Lance Franklin, Steve Johnson, Dayne Beams, Taylor Walker, Matthew Pavlich, Dayne Zorko, Justin Sherman
Bench: Billie Smedts, Tommy Walsh

Obviously Pendles will be on field when fit, and the only chances I have for upgrades come through Jed Bews and Tommy Walsh.

This has been an ordinary year for me, and I consign myself to defeat for most of the remainder!

As discussed in a separate thread, Brogan hurts his scoring.

Had a good game v Sydney last time but his average drops about 25 or so when Brogan plays.

I hope Brogan does play as I got rid of Giles last week. I've got bugger all trades left as I'm trying to stave off relegation. Finals just about gone for me which makes me a sitting duck in Division III and in the Piglet as well. I won't care though as long as I don't go bottom two in the Premier League.

regards,

I think if you have any more than about 6 trades left at the moment you are doing pretty well or just been the luckiest bloke on the planet to not have had any of the long term injured players
