Yes you are. Play 3 tests and you get a contract. Do that a couple of times and you'll be on the list at the start of the year.

Given T20 matches don't carry 4 points (2, I think) towards an interim contract, then the incentive of a contract is best chased via test cricket.

Exactly. Why would any young cricketer practise building an innings over whacking the ball these days when even if you do make it to Test level you aren't guaranteed a contract and financial reward.



He's averaging 29.83 in test cricket, not good enough by today's standard's. Another in-between player, outstanding at Shield level, bit tougher on the international circuit.

Announced today that both Khawaja & Hauritz have left NSW and signed two-year deals with QLD.
