Define weak. Is it like wanting to merge with South, is it like wanting to play finals like South, is it like being financially viable like South, or is it being told we would never merge, is it like finishing bottom, or maybe that's arrogance fueled by ignorance.

Define weak. mmm. Not wanting to merge withh South that would be desperate like South were when they wanted to be taken over by Sturt. Not that. Playing finals like South, no, more than 1 finals appearnce in a decade is weak.Like finishing bottom regulary over 50 year is weak , yes. A club with no supporters is one way to define weak , no finals success is another way to define weak as is a lack of premiership glory in the last 100 years .

So you're describing the top sides from every other major league around the country as weak?

Looks like the amount of teams will be reduced so there will be just 2 x SANFL clubs participating next year...

Well if so that's a lot of my suggestions from last November taken on board.

- Improve the commentary (done)

- Reduce maxiumum games to 3, ensuring participating clubs get weeks off during the season.

- Give earlier notice of structure & schedule (if already planning now).

- Reduce to just grand finalists from each league.

- 8 clubs should ensure a higher quality of competition and more even matches.

- An earlier finish .... If it is only 8 clubs and all knock out games that's just seven matches, allowing for a break between each round you should see the comp finalised within 12 weeks. If it started first week in April should be done by end of June ... lots of time for everyone to focus on their state league finals.

Now ... where would the 8 come from?

Two from VFL, WAFL and SANFL would be a given = 6

Would the last two be the just the NEAFL champion and Tasmanian champion?

Would the two NEAFL conference winners get in and Tassie miss out?

Or could there be a pre-season competition of sorts to earn those last two spots?

Having just two clubs involved AND early notice will reduce a lot of scheduling interference with the state league comp as well .... as we are about to see now with a lot of three game rounds.

Just got to work out how to generate a better atmosphere at the empty stadiums.

Was speaking with some younger generation Norwood Fans yesterday at a local Footy match and they are keen for their club to take on the best from the other state leagues around the country.

Lets hope they are not the only Legs fans thinking this way and they do take part next season if they qualify.

Don't forget the people who have made hundreds of posts saying they're not interested in it, they must be very interested to say the same thing over and over.

But surely the actual players who represented Port and West count for at least double for the not interested party!

If we don't keep protesting they'll do it all over again and it might continue for seasons...

A big hello to all the AFL and Foxtel executives reading this forum, using it as a guide to shape the Foxtel Cup in seasons to come. I love Foxtel *cough* free subscription *cough* and think the AFL is a wonderful exemplary dictatorshi....err, I mean organisation.

A bit like the people whinging about Rucci's articles. I don't have any reason to whinge about them ,I DONT READ THEM!
