Firstly, we were fortunate with the free and weren't the best team on the day by a long way, so I feel for West but 4.3 to 0.2 in the last quarter had a little bit to do with it too I would've thought.

It didn't look like he fell first and was then tackled, as you imply, but that he was propelled forward by the impact in the back.
The TV commentators at the time said they thought it was a legitimate "in the back" though they seemed to think it was a bit soft.
Then there were a number of similarly soft ones both ways during the day.

I agree it was a bit of luck its being paid, but technically it was there.

even though the result was determined by a free 45 meters out, west kicking for goal was terrible and IS the real reason they lost. bass finally got his side moving different. and west shit emselves.

Looked to me, in general play, that Westies should have been 5-8 goal in front by 3/4 time .. 1st quarter smashed us, more even in 2nd and 3rd (although they should have outscored us by more in the 3rd)

If they had been they would have been home and hosed.

I can't recall a game where the winning team failed to kick a goal at one end of the ground.

Norwood would have some of the dumbest football fans I have ever met. On the Eastern side of the ground I listened to about 20 dickheads all day complain about the free kicks and slag off their own players. Then when they won they revel in the win.
I was watching one dick swearing at the top of his voice with his 5yr old kid next to him. Poor form.

After seeing the last quarter twice Ive come to the conclusion that the wrong team won this game
THAT decision the Rodan push in the back WAS a free kick, no one could DEfY it being given
BUT
If the umps were consistent it should not have been paid

6.36 Rodan pushed in the back NO FREE
12.08 Rodan pushed in the back by Webb and Slattery NO FREE
27.03 Rodan pushed in the back by Hartlett NO FREE
27.27 Rodan pushed in the back by Fielke THAT FREE

I saw the late in the game holding the ball frees help NA beat NW
This game I saw the in the back decisions DEfinitelY cost WA a win

In the last quarter I saw what appeared to be about 16 in the back decisions with players tackled to the ground
14 were not paid as frees
2 were paid as free kicks
That the only 2 in the backs went to NW, and that cost WA DEarlY
May I add that I watched these decisions from the ABC camera angles, and that umps see it different on the field

Some people on SAfooty dont think so, but I will say Umpires make a difference to the results of games
This game was no exception

Was out at the Centrals game and did not have a problem with the Central fans. I would say that they at least knew some of the rules of the game and supported their players, not slagged them off all day.
