Get him!

Postby Booney » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:41 pm

When we're watching the footy, even if our team isnt playing,Im pretty sure we all have a few players who make you think to yourself "Get him....!", you want to see the other team make him earn it, sometimes for no reason. Then the twist as you sigh and think "Jeez he's good" as he takes a hit, wins possession and wins the contest.

Joel Selwood makes me do that.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Dane Swan
But after his Footy Show appearance on Thursday, I've softened my attitude
towards him.
I didn't hate him, to me he was just another Collingwood mongrel. ;)
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Scott Pendlebury. Even in the tightest situations he seems to have time. Used to think that way about Judd too but in recent weeks he has clearly been struggling.

Not just wanting to bag Carlton, but when Judd started at CFC, he carried the whole team (similar to GAJ at the moment).

Now that the lads there have all matured, he doesn't need to do as much, and he's probably not used to what role he can play if he slips back to be "just one of the boys" performance wise.

Judd.

mainly because when he was at WC he was my favourite player, then i hope hopes of him coming to Collingwood when he left perth. but to not only NOT come to collingwood, but go to CARLTON, i hope he gets cleaned up whenever he's within 5m of the ball.

Both McVeighs tear it up against Carlton
Newman is a loose man and he doesn't even do that well. Great image for a captain to have, be unaccountable and chase uncontested possessions.
Ryder is a spud, not worth the hype.

I've never wanted to see any player in any side deliberately injured.
However, I recognised that malicious unsporting attitude was part of the football culture from watching SANFL in the Fos Williams and Neil Kerley era..

That's why I prefer the more well policed AFL game now, and why in my youth, while I enjoy watching football for the skills, I took up Hockey.
I had life aims that didn't allow room for getting maimed playing a game.
(Just like Peter Oatey, Rick Abbott, and Andrew Aish did. I don't claim I had their talent.)
