THE RAIN

Postby keep your feet » Sat Apr 28, 2007 3:01 pm

I went past the pit at bridgewater thismorning during the colts and the oval was in alsorts of trobbel. not going to be a good day for football, but the good players do shine in these conditions. GTS you should be in for a good one and nipple might be looking for another 7 goal haul like at thunder park a few years back. might be the difference in the supers.
I think that the devils skills in all grades will shine and really let us buckel down. hard footy is what the devils live and breath. welcome to hell onkas.

If anyone is interested in Country Div. stuff, I saw Gummy play Cally todayat Gummy; probably amongst the most atrocious conditions I've seen over the years. Megarain falling, road conditions very scary and visibility zero. Not possible to leave the car and couldn't see the scoreboard. However, amid all this was a really good contest with both sides very committed. Nice to see lots of youngsters out there in both teams and the endevour shown couldn't be faulted. Pissed down beyond description for the entire 100 minutes. Final score was Eagles 4-7 to Gummy 1-6. First Eagles A grade win for a couple of years I think. I suppose everyone will assume this happened because Gummy are struggling more than ever this year, but seriously, neither club deserves to fill a bottom spot. Full credit to all players for performing so tenaciously and giving everyone their money's worth. I've been wading through the endless anecdotes of paid HFL players via this site and squirming about the way it's all happened in recent years. Good luck to all on the field at Gummy today anyway. Now and then my naive grassroots footy stuff gives me a shot in the arm to go on with!

Devils went down to Onkas 3.11 - 4.10.

SHOCKING conditions at Devil Park, but the ground held up reasonably well.

I'll be the first to say WELL DONE to Onkas. After all the crap spoken from me, I'll cop a loss sweet on the short and curleys.

Supers B's geave Onkas an 11 goal lesson.

We talked Nipple up for 7 goals, he managed 1 goal 6 behinds, and looks like a dirty arab terrorist with that beard. DONT LET HIM NEAR A PLANE!

Always gotta be bottom sides Cougar, otherwise there wouldn't be top ones. And country footy being what it is, there's always someone who thinks these sides are worth watching. I'd need to see a few more games this year before I'd agree with you, though it's pretty obvious neither side will make the finals. Both clubs have overcome all sorts of hurdles just to get it all happening this year. The point of my comments last night was that amid all the $, gutsiness prevailed and I enjoyed my arvo. Good luck to them both I reckon!

what a shocker of a wkend for football, alot of points scored over the board. at lofty the first goals wasnt scored until the 3rd quarter i think at half time it was 6 points to 7.. onkas beat us but the real winner was me for getting one of the awesome yiros' we had in the canteen after our game.. good stuff should be another great money making scheme, much better than a snag and bread.

as far as percentage goes uris wouldve been hating having birdwood this week. they could kicked 100 against them on a dry day.
