Grant was more than average, one of the best in the comp during his time and would have more talent in his big toe than most of the forwards today. If he had played for a bigger club he would be remembered as a superstar.

kangas were a great team then? he was no doubt a great player, but we are talking the best of the best.

Chris Grant was a gun, I have no doubt about that. One of the most versatile key position players to have played the game.

Wasn't far off Glen Jakovich as a CHB, and he could play at CHF pretty much at the level of guys like Brereton.

I remember one game at Footy Park against the Crows, would have been around 7 or 8 years, he absolutely chopped them up.

Definitely a worthy Hall of Fame inductee from my viewpoint.

remember he won a brownlow in 97 but the medal was taken away because of a stupid one week suspension

All are worthy of their place in the H.O.F.
Chris Grant should have won a Brownlow but got cheated out of it by Ian Collins. Chris stayed with the Dogs through thick and think.

Glenn Archer is tough as nails and is one of the best players I have see who never took a backward step. Again could have gone elsewhere for the money but stayed loyal.

Robert Harvey say no more the only thing missing is a day premiership for him.

Shane Crawford. Forget what you see on the footy show the guy deserves his place.

Big Bob Johnson larger than life character of the game and an important part of the Melbourne History.

Cornes deserves it because of what he has done for SA football and his career for Glenelg. at the time he played the VFL and SANFL were close but the VFL had the slightly better players which lead to S.O.O

Cable as a legend it should have been Blight but yes Cable does deserve it.

I always thought Archer was hugely overrated and havent changed my mind. Too many people were influenced by commentators love affair with him IMHO.
Dont get me wrong, a good player but not a hall of famer.
But others are in there that shouldnt be like Dean Kemp too.
Might as well as put anyone that plays 100 games in it.

I feel that more interstate players should be considered for it. I was proud of the day Barrie Robran was made a Legend. I feel more interstate players should be considered for it. Great example of someone who is not a legend but should be is Russell Ebert.

What debate? Holland had to leave the field and didn't resume. Up to that point he'd being towelling up Grant.

Well alot of people over this side of the border thought Grant should not have been reported by Collins.

Too many players getting in who have just retired.

Should be retired as a player for 10 years at least before being considered.

This would allow more players from the 40's - 80's to be included.

You could also do it the other way

Each Era

1897 - 1945 2 inductees

1946 - 1960 2 inductees

1961 - 1980 2 inductees

1981 - 2000 2 inductees

And 1 player elevated to Legend status each year
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

It's not the name Archer or Crawford that has me puzzled by their inclusion, but the sheer number of players who are now considered Hall of Fame inductees. I think there are also 23 Legends and I couldn't be bothered counting up how may HoF's there are.

In 40 years time when we have 60 Legends and 300 HoF's ....

( Edit - Currently 23 Legends and 233 Hall of Fame inductees )
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!
