SA Amateur Football League chief executive Grant Goodall said Seaton was one of three clubs whose player report numbers were "above our acceptable levels for the first half of the season".

Seaton president Paul Johnson also denounced the violence. "There is no room for it in football. We frown upon any of our players getting involved in this," he said.

Maybe Seaton need to start to do something about it, as by the looks of it some of there players have been involved in a few incidents this year.

Wasnt that Kaurna Eagles that played at mawson lakes? ex - glandore eagles

Oh yeah true it was. Were they a spin off from Trans Adelaide Im confused now

The Adelaide Tigers joined the SAFA in its final years, then merged with STA to become the Trans Adelaide Tigers. They folded and a few of their players went to Glandore, then they folded and a few years later the Kaurna Eagles formed and played at St Clair reserve, then Mawsons lakes oval until they folded.

now concludes the lesson :)

Correct, and their home ground whilst in SAFA was opposite the West Thebby pub which was part of the Thebarton oval complex back then. The sight that is now being redeveloped into what I'm not sure. They folded in SAFA before they merged with STA some years later.

is it just me or did the SAAFL only mention that Seaton had a high incident rate this year and not the fact that the guy from Seaton was actually the victim here? I read it as they were saying "too bad" he played for Seaton? It doesn't matter how clean or how dirty your club is, it only takes one idiot thug to change the perception. From reports on this one the guy from AL was out of control, they wouldn't have known he was going to do it. If I was this guy I would be taking legal action for sure. It wouldn't be accepted on the street and nor should it on the footy field.

Does seem odd doesn't it that you throw punches on the street and you end up in the paddy wagon. You throw them on the footy field and you just get a few matches and can come back in 2 or 3 weeks and do it all over again.

There Tex, I corrected it for accuracy
And for the record, I checked the official response to the Sunday Mail and there is no mention of Seaton being one of the 3 clubs, and this is the first time this season that Seaton have had a player up on a Cat A charge, so it is factually incorrect. Note I used the word reporter and not journalist.
I'm not taking either side in this problem, but the standard of reporting is appalling.
A bit like the last idiot saying Kilburn won the Div 2 Grand Final last year.
I would say both clubs are in for an interesting week

From what i've heard (wasn't at the game so didn't see it) he wasn't the victim of a thug and was actually a victim of his own medicine. At the end of the day the SAAFL and clubs need to start taking a stance on any kind fighting on the football field and especially the c grade. I have seen a few c grade games and have seen guys throw punches in front of the umpire and nothing has happen or at most a yellow card. Maybe the SAAFL need to start throwing out fines to clubs once they have a certain number of players reported, and double the sentence for players that get found guilty for doing the same thing twice.

Our 18's played a trial match out there which was called off before half time due to them wanted to go the biff and not the ball and we played them in our C's started out good coach saying they wanted to play footy and not fight but that ended once they started to get beaten but cant blame all the payers just some meatheads with hotheads that cant handle being beaten

Just glad it doesnt happen every week or my job would be made harder and keep me real busy and miss watching the game while i patch em up

Oh and the StA changed its name when it became Transadelaide
the clubrooms were pretty good at Coopers/STA Regency Pk maintance depot i worked there in the early to mid 80's the clubroom was the social clubs rooms

I see on the SAAFL website that everyone who fronted the tribunal was found guilty last night but no suspension details.

Is this the norm from now on?

If so I dont agree with it

It seems there is another reason for not putting in the penalties.

No one would've been standing if he fired up. One look at them impressive guns and the place would've been deserted.
