Cods too big, too quick, too well coached.

Agree AD. The Cods could have won that game by 15 goals but for inaccurate kicking. Most RMFL players had there moment to shine. Harvey had it on a string, and Brunoli's strength a real feature.

I don't know the RMFL players but the guy wearing #4 was impressive.

Pity the sun wasn't shining all day, would have made photos better.

Clearances pending now for both Sharples and McDonald to Tailem. Will be interesting to see how they go in the RMFL.

If cleared by Saturday, might even up the game against Mannum a little bit this week, although I'd still expect the Roos to go in as favourites.

Who are the 2 SANFL Players that Tailem are close to signing that the "Rat" Dalwood wrote about today?
"There is a last minute scramble for a couple of SANFL players to join the Eagles just before the transfer season closes at the end of June to give them a bit of an injection of class as they push for a finals berth."

Surely not Charlie Sharples from Sturt? I heard he wasn't getting a fair opportunity to play league this year however I didnt think he was going to get the boot mid-season?

Well one has been cleared to GSFL (Fittock) , one returned to GSFL, another won't be selected but still train and play SAAFL. Leaves Sharples and McDonald as the only 2 without their future determined.

Sharples would be a flanker who has played State football for SA. McDonald would be midfield.

Didnt Sharples win a SAAFL Div 1 medal recently? Playing on-ball for Gepps X?

Off Sturts Website....

"Midfielder Charlie Sharples, utility Pat Fittock, left footer John McDonald and ruckman Tom Pinyon will all head to local leagues while Angus Twopeny has been told he won't get a reserves game for the next month.

Sharples is the only one of the quintet to play league this season, playing three games before injuring his hamstring against Norwood in the reserves two weeks ago.

Sturt football manager Paul Sandercock said Sharples had missed more than one training session without informing the club of his whereabouts, which had contributed to his dismissal."

Mmmm

Good luck Tailem then.... particularly with the run theyve had this season.... Is ray love making a return too? The month or so off footy and his willingness to NOT run would see him fairly off the pace?
Sharples should be good if he's the one Im thinking of.

I really hoped Tailem would stand their ground on this one. Disappointing, if true.

Nah I think it's a good thing, I doubt the club begged teh boys to come back and instead they did so off their own accord after causing the problem so in my eyes the club looks like theyve well and trully stood their ground. Which lets not forget was 'fulfill your contracts or become arm chair experts'.

Wouldn't surprise me. Met him at PJ O'Briens one night there on East Terrace. We were both in fine form, he is a ripping lad but afterwards I was thinking maybe if he was an amatuer footballer like me, drinking like this would be alright- but isn't he meant to be a SANFL footballer?

can play though.
