Rnd 12 - Eagles v North @ Unleash Solar Oval (Sat 16/6)

Postby Big Phil » Tue Jun 12, 2012 1:40 pm

We all know the troubles the Eagles are having and they were again poor, yesterday in their loss to the Bays. The giant killing Roosters would have to go in favourites and are playing some really good footy at the moment, evident by their tight win over Norwood. This may be the final chance the home side has to salvage anything from their season?

I laughed on reading that but these are the types of games that North do lose. North lately seem to beat the top sides and lose to the bottom sides (beaten by Sturt 2 or 3 thimes last year?)

Not so sure about this one - danger game for North AND...

Backwell - out
Gallman - out
Ivens - possibly out
Stewart - could be dropped to the Power?

In's for North - Armstrong, Hall, Handby and maybe if Stewart is an out Boras and or James Craig?

The Eagles have absolutely no hope of winning this match ... unless Fine Cotton, sorry Eagles are replaced by Bold Personality, errr, Central.

Eagles have no hope in hell of getting near North.
If the same team plays that lost to the bays 90 point plus loss.
If they play some kids might be a larger loss but at least they'd put in an appearance !!!

If they keep playing like they are, they would need to start now to have any chance.

We have one ruckman at the club, end of story.

Time to go to the Yorke's and get a 6ft5 monster.

But the way your blokes are kicking for goal, you would probably kick a point, then have to wait around for a few days for North to kick it back in

Not quite sure why there is so much pessimism about this game.
I think the Eagles have a real chance, especially looking at those outs for North, but a lot will be dependent on Parry at the tribunal, which probably isn't good given his past record.
For as bad as others think we were on Monday, we still had 3 more scoring shots (five for most of the last quarter) than the opposition on their dunghill who are now equal second.
Cicca, Powell, McKenzie won't all be that ineffective again you wouldn't think.
Rowntree, Knights and Eddy would all be ins. Guifredda too, who, as I said on another thread, is pretty underrated and allows other defenders to play different roles.

Were you watching the game against Glenelg? We played very well in periods with a fluency in terms of moving the ball from one end of the ground to the other we haven't seen this season. We also had more scoring shots and were still very much in it 10 minutes into the last quarter. If we hadn't kicked 1.14 in the first and last quarters combined we may well have won.
Roosters narrowly.

RB I was there before the seconds game started and left when the league finished .Yes I agree but our boys played with out any passion for much of that game .There are to many out of form players and those who are playing without the hunger .How a once great goal sneek in goldsworthy could miss so many easy goals on the run is beyond me.
Sumner did things that the others wouldn't or didnt do .He took chances and they paid off at times .I could name at least 2 guys who wouldnt put in and get the hard ball .And they should have been dropped weeks past.
What I also noticed was the bays playing direct to goal footy .And the bays doing to the eagles what most other sides had done this year run off us .
As I posted above one other EAGLES fan was yelling we FANS showed up why didnt the players !!!
Jarrads injury could bring Batley in .I think Fiztgerald and Poole should come in as well.

Sorry to be the grinch, but the Eagles were never in the game from late in the 2nd quarter ... they Bays didn't play great footy but thumped them.

I've seen every team this year and the Eagles are by far the worst ... it's a very sorry state of affairs.
