I didn't hear it, but Norwood Footy Ops Manager Mark Ross was on the AA Show tonight and 'clarified' the comments made by Bassett after the loss.

Can anyone that was listening post what Rossy said Bass meant?

Damage control

But not by the person responsible but he wouldn't have the balls to publically try to explain let alone retract what he said. So be it but I cannot wait for the next Norwood v. North game.

Granted they should have been 5 goals up at QT, but after that the Bays were first to the footy and harder at it .

Finally, I understand cheer squads serve a great purpose and are a part of our game but I had the misfortune of walking past the wwt cheer squad today with my wife and daughter in pram and we copped an unprovoked verbal from 2 things straight out of "The Deliverance". Good to see in breeding is alive and well.

Luke Jarrad looked like he did a serious knee injury. Fingers crossed he isn't out for too long?

Umpires started before the bounce and didn't get any better the entire day.

Tom Lynch flys the flag as Kane is having a crack at first gamer Gill and then umpire watches Kane shoulder bumping Gill then Lynch in the back and Lynch throws a elbow back and bang Free Kick. Good proactive umpiring by using your voice to get them to cut it out.

Thought the Eagles applied good pressure and we couldn't get the ball into our half in the 1st qtr. I actually think if the Eagles had of goaled a bit more it would have got us into the contest as it would have gone to a 50/50 from the middle.

For once we made MacKenzie accountable and he didn't influence the game at all.

Loving the way the kids are stepping up to League Footy and not looking out of place. Carger and Gill could both hold there heads up high today. Bradley, McGinty, Trembath, McFarlane and Agnew who didn't play today are the reason we are going to finish higher than the 8th or 9th most people predicted us to finish. Winning a Premiership is out of reach but keep this group together without a big AFL raid and 12 months time could be a different story.

torn heartstring?
how do you get a corked thigh when you run around packs?!

no point going on about the umps, we won by 8 goals, they didn't influence the result.
pretty solid crowd number too, as was the game at prospect.
geez i hope we get 'lucky' against the weglegs next week

Really hope that is true? It also says in the paper he left the ground with a corkie before half time, but pretty sure it was in the 3rd quarter when he went off with what I thought was a knee injury.

With the look of the Bay team the Eagles should kill them, the bays look crappie on paper. Eagles should win by 8 to 10 goals, but only if they get it all together

Well Holden, your hybrids looked crappy on paper and crappy on field too

The bottom line was Glenelg were more efficient and at times when the game was on the line they had all the answers, as most sides have against the Eagles this year. The Eagles were smashed in the centre during that 2nd quarter and that was with all of our experienced players in the middle.

Goldsworthy and Sumner I thought were our two best. I thought Killian looked better than any of the other 2nd rucks we've tried this year. It is time to plan for 2013 and kick start by getting important game time in to the players that will take us forward while there is still experience around them.

The two reports were nothing more than the umpires fretting over some physicality and the umpiring for the entire game was diabolical. In general the Eagles may have got the better of it as well but the inconsistency and interpretations are a massive issue.

Well done Glenelg. The better side won. I thought Mules going forward was really handy for Glenelg.

Aerie i wasn't able to get to the game today but I agree with your comment re that now is the time to try the players for next year. This season is gone and the sooner we acknowlege it the better. Did Killian go ok? If so he should be in the side for the rest of the year even if he is raw. Maybe time to try bring in Batley, Martyn and Joyce (even if the last two are with the Crows). We should ignore the fact that we are likely to lose. We should now be getting league game time into the second tier players. Also experimenting with players in positions they wouldn't normally play. Staple, Day, Hall would all be dropped if we had depth. As it doesn't much matter anymore they need to be dumped and remain in the reserves until they show some form, heart and willing to bust their guts for this club. Hall in particular has been very disappointing since his return and has shown he is unlikely to ever be a midfielder. He must be on the borderline of being told by Godden he is no longer required. The positives this season - I think Sumner has come along really well since the start of the year. He needs to keep it up to start next year strong. Despite goldsworthy being inconsistent I think he has what it takes to be a really good player. Raymond has been good. Shirley has really surprised me (in a good way) and has really got better with each game although this season will probably be his last. Does Godden play those who will retire at season's end? Cicca - great club servant but the club needs to move him on. Powell is probably on the verge of retirement. Parry will be a huge loss but not out of the question he will go as well. We know Macca is a certain out. No doubt it will be new look eagles side next year but I don't think we can't improve providing we go out hard and recruit.

Firstly well done to the bays on your win .
My Eagles what a shocking state of affairs from flag winners to spooners .
Its time to drop the guys who are underperforming .I understand we have very little to promote in the seconds (that in itself could be the clubs undoing )but I'd rather have a kid trying his guts out .
Than what has been on show most of this year!!!
The only shinning light from the weekends game was Sumner he out shone the Eagles players.
As a Eagles fan yelled out yesterday we fans bothered to show up why cant the players!!

So thats it we cant make the five time to promote players like Poole, Ftizgerald , Bately and reintroduce a couple of others !! Perhaps the 30yo plus players(harsh but if we are going to move forward) should be in the two's along with underachieving ex AFL players I wont name him but he was at Fremantle !!!
Play the kids if we are going to lose big time at least the kids will put up an effort !!

I think I named the ex-AFL Freo player in my post! Just on him, he is a huge disappointment. I don't think he has improved one bit from when he burst onto the scene as a 17 year old who looked to be destined for bigger and better things. When he left he was slightly built with pace. Now he is still slightly built but has no pace. Not exactly sure where he fits in given he doesn't have the tank or skills to be a midfielder. Unfortunately I think he will always be one of those players who probably stands out at seconds level but is unable to make the transition to league. Very similar situation to Hicks a few years back.
