i can confirm that its a load of crap!!!!!!!! UNited did not get close to Mallala. The 'new' McArdle on the block is Jamie, certainly does not have the height or the size or importantly the talent of the sammy and scotty. Kicked 3 against two wells but i think blind freddy could get a kick against two wells at the moment.

I managed to get out there and watch the game. Can confirm that in the A's united looked average (flat?), and mallala played pretty good. Reece francis dominated the first half. united look like they have potential (if not they will struggle), and if thats the best mallala can offer they wont match it with hummocks (will any team though???). also if the gain a few injuries, especially to either of their only two bigmen could see them struggle (no depth in b's - who got done by 11 goals).

also can confirm that kent had a quiet day and opits in b's was on fire

Yeah good call, trav opitz did have a field day, but like you said it was against a pretty young Mallala B's outfit so he could do what he wanted. He looked about 7 or 8 kgs over weight, so i dont reckon he would have much impact for another few weeks until he gets match fit again. Can certainly play but is getting old also.
What did you think of Broadys performance when they needed him to stand up in the midfield?

showed signs for them (skills and strength) but like their whole team looked a bit flat (or maybe mallala are that much fitter??)

You really got it in for Kenty havent you mate. How bout some constructive footy talk. Kenty could play in his day, the fact he is getting old is life mate. If he wants to try and keep playing good on him, and if United reckon theyre a top team i cant see why they would keep playin him if he was no value.

any tips for this weekend

hamley vs united
mallala vs virginia
hummocks vs two wells

united in a close one (hamley seem to have improved on last year, united out of form last week)
mallala by 6 goals (with half a team of new players it will take virginia more than a few weeks to 'gel')
hummocks by 15 goals (simply too good!)

Virginia were absolutely terrible, 4 scoring shots to 34 in the wet says it all! It was a very undiscipline and dirty game from the rams, so nothing much has changed this year, seems as though thats all theyre out there for.

pretty happy that they have spent big bucks to get absolutley fugg all, same old Virginia!! they are a disrgrace to every league that they have ever played in and i am ashamed that they have had anything to do with our club.

The best they got was when Weavs coached them in 2003-2005 at least they had a level that was competetive. they have got a lot of work to do to get any where near the rest of the clubs in the league.
the biggest disappointment was that they have some reasonable players who deserve better.

Good call
The funny thing is its those good players that are chasing the money, and a wet day like saturday really exposes whether or not theyre there to play good footy or theyre just showing up to collect the match payments, (they certainly did not come to play footy saturday, might be good players but ordinary form by them)

it's not just that, it's a lot of things from their non attendance at the Leagues best and fairest, sorry, the only two that were their from the football side were one of the Leo Brothers who won the Reserves goal kicker and the president, then after the reserves presentation there was no-one to be seen from Virginia, it's disappointing as most other teams can rustle up at least ten to twenty people to front up, it will be interesting to see if they come this year as it's at my beloved Two Wells.

But they do not strive to rid their club of this image that they have, which is less than complimentary, they should spend more time looking at their juniors than buying players from here there and everywhere.

i would love nothing more than for the rams to be just another country club and have another team join the APFL so we could have Eight.

For those interested Saturday's game between HWE and Mallala, will see HWE's A-Grade players wear red and black jumpers to celebrate 40 years since Watchman beat Mallala in the 67 GF. Current players will be presented with their jumpers by the oldies which will be given back to the oldies after the game or auctioned off. Super idea whoever came up with it and should be a great day.

Fittingly, the two form teams of the current season meet in what should be a good game. Mallala's form is very gd and their emergence may be just the challenge to HWE that the league needs.
