I don't know how true this rumour is but i heard West Lakes gun forward from last year who's now out with the Eagles in the SANFL is returning to the Lions den. Anyone from West Lakes want to fill us in if theirs any truth to this rumour?
Would be more than handy for them if so.

Well he kicked 3 on the weekend in the seconds. It was his first game back from injury. He is not coming back. We would love for him to come back. but wish him all the best and hope he gets back in the league side.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Also one of the better BBQ's going around, and the elevation means a really good place to watch footy from.

Our c/d grade have the bye in DIv 8, so gives them a good chance to come out and watch the 1's/2's.

Pretty important to stop Carey you'd think; Midfielder kicking over 2 goals a game. Wonder how much longer until Jamie Cox and the SACA tap him on the shoulder!?!

Very important to stop alex, but the only was to stop him is if you win the contested ball and stop the supply to him that way because no one will be able to match him aerobically. He is only doing 1 on 1 sessions with Tim
Nielsen ATM and won't be getting a contract with the redbacks at least until he finds form in grade cricket.

So about round 2. Think he will go past Crosthwaite and Davey into the No.1 keepers role pretty quickly. Reckon we should be able to find someone who can keep up with him.

Wicket keeper or batsman?

No Chance. Loving the Eagles and hopefully for Charlies sake we don't see him back for a few years. He'll be back at the den in time, just not yet. Still attends all functions/club thursday nights etc. - shows what sort of a clubman he is.

CBC put up a good fight on the weekend, put probably just lacking a bit of depth as evidenced by their B grade. Gees it was good to play them without Margitich - he's killed us every game i've played against them! Disappointed to miss out on the BBQ, but got a good laugh out of the scoreboard crew as always.

I see a J Gatt was in front of the tribunal last night... This couldn't be the Weasel could it? [-X

Would be a bit of a hypocrite if so after comments like these:

I heard there was a bit of a punch up and a kilburn player came off the bench and king hit one of the young scotch players! Saw a picture on facebook of the bloke in hospital and looks pretty nasty with a tube down his throat to help him breathe by the look of it! Has the guy been suspended by the club?

If what you have described is true, than the player in question should be suspended for the maximum 12 weeks which would then make him ineligable to play in the SAAFL again. You can't have players running off the bench, and if the result of his hit was that servere that the player winded up in hospital than throw the book at him I say!

Th Kilburn umpire probably ran from the other side of the ground to report the soctch player who'd been king hit.

hope the kids ok.

I notice on the SAAFL site there is a Kilworth from Kilburn C grade reported. If this is the incident the name seems fitting
Ok that was ordinary!

I see mr Kilworth received 8 games for this incident. Anyone from Kilburn care to comment. Was it fair enough 8 games, should have got more? or Less? And for the above post, the Pooraka lads both got 1 game each.

Matthew Whelan plays his 200th game for Kilburn this week.

Div 1 premiership, div 2 and 4 medallist. Not a bad record.

Good hard fought win for us against PNU. They're a pretty quick side, with some good hard runners, and matched us up pretty well in their back half. Well Coached, and Very disciplined. Dare say they will be around the mark come September.

Forgotten how Big a bloke Jolly is. Played well too, as did #1.

Some confusing umpiring for the first time this year. Seemed to reward the guys who got to the contest second - Understand that happens in the AFL, but not what you want to see in Amateur footy IMO.

On a side note: Watched our Under 18's play an enthralling top-of-the-table clash against Port Districts yesterday: Absolute Frenetic pace for 4 quarters with some great skills on display depsite the conditions. Looks like a few future A Graders for both clubs. FTR - Distrcts got up by 4 goals :(

Can Kilburn continue to shine and skip back into finals contention? A win this week will have them well and trully in the mix after taking care of Athelstone!

Now this I'd like to see! From bottom to finals after being stripped of points would be a first?!

Nope, Salisbury West did it in 2006 after starting the year on -6 points.
