My daughter and I witnessing a bloke get belted to a pulp with a metal bar yesterday and then finding out from the cops that he might not survive. What pisses me off, is these ferals settle their arguments in public for anyone and everyone to see. If you're going to kill each other, do it behind closed doors. Children shouldn't be sujected to seeing that crap.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

If you are in a union check with them, if not contact the ombudsman or safework SA, they may be able to help you.
That is happened at my work about 27 or 28 years ago, payroll staff went on strike, as a struggling apprentice it was a tough couple of weeks with no income but the blow was lessened when we found out that our award stated we must be paid time and a half for any period our pay is late.
Other awards may have different ways of compensating you for late payment.

I live in Victoria and I am used to this. The agreement which we currently have is if they stuff up we wait the fortnight. If I was a train driver I would be paid the next day. I have been trying for four years to get this changed one day I hope it will be.

Thats a disgrace Strawb .. These days with automated Payroll systems and the ease with which ABA files can be lodged with their bank, it's hard to see any reason why you or any of the employee's should have to wait until the next pay cycle.

you dont have to wait until the next pay cycle, i had these issues with a previous employer and was told to wait. I put my foot down and told them I had direct debits etc, the piss poor excuse i got after that is every pay adjustment made outside of the regular pay cycle was going to cost the company $45 for that transaction

well the company can ask for the $45 from whoever stuffed up the payments then, not the poor worker missing out on their money through no fault of their own.

i have had it happen to me twice, once the week before my wedding, the next the week before i moved house. was told the same story too "wait till next pay day" etc. the guy from payroll blamed HR. i asked for HR's number and got told i would have to go through my boss. i was on holidays already (took the two days before the wedding off, as well as three weeks after) told him that my boss knew and i wasnt going to spend the first day of my holidays chasing their stuff up.

it came down to me threatening to come down to his office and stand on his desk till he gave me HR's number and that he could explain to my new bride why i got married in shorts cos i needed the cash to pick up the suits before he relented , HR guy said he would organise payroll to get me a manual payment (think he had talked to the guy in payroll as he already knew i was pisesed off  ) then gave me the whole 'we wouldnt normally do a manual payment, we will only do it this time cos it is your wedding saturday etc) i just told them i would hope that you wouldnt normally F#$% up peoples pay.

too bad it happened less than 12 months later, same story. i just dont see why they make such a big deal when it is their stuff up, and your money. they also dont like it when, after they tell you to calm down, you ask has their pay ever been stuffed up. supposedly that isnt relavent

good on you for standing your ground too Strawb

When i worked in the construction industry a few years ago, under our EBA if our pay was not in our account on the regular day we got paid double time for every hour until it was fixed. Hence our pays always went in on time
I'm number 1, so why try harder!!

My sister started a new contract at the beginning of the year (Primary School Teaching at a public school). Was about 2 months of working before she got paid a single cent. Then they still didn't give her what she was owed when they started paying. Not sure if it's been all sorted out yet, but what a disgrace.

You don't catch a cold in less than 2 hours so it must be bird flu or some other exotic disease you caught from the little cutie in the photos with you ;)
