Children shouldn't be sujected to seeing that crap.

If you are in a union check with them, if not contact the ombudsman or safework SA, they may be able to help you.
That is happened at my work about 27 or 28 years ago, payroll staff went on strike, as a struggling apprentice it was a tough couple of weeks with no income but the blow was lessened when we found out that our award stated we must be paid time and a half for any period our pay is late.
Other awards may have different ways of compensating you for late payment.
I live in Victoria and I am used to this. The agreement which we currently have is if they stuff up we wait the fortnight. If I was a train driver I would be paid the next day. I have been trying for four years to get this changed one day I hope it will be.

Thats a disgrace Strawb .. These days with automated Payroll systems and the ease with which ABA files can be lodged with their bank, it's hard to see any reason why you or any of the employee's should have to wait until the next pay cycle.

you dont have to wait until the next pay cycle, i had these issues with a previous employer and was told to wait. I put my foot down and told them I had direct debits etc, the piss poor excuse i got after that is every pay adjustment made outside of the regular pay cycle was going to cost the company $45 for that transaction
