Anyone know the rules about which end each team needs to warm up at before the game? My understanding was that you warm up the same end of the oval in line with which side your coaches box is on? Is that an actual rule or just a common sense approach?

west croydon did the same thing at our oval. Funny how both teams were not to successful with this approach

IMO it doesn't really matter which end you warm up at... I couldn't care less which end my team uses, and vice versa. I know some clubs are fairly determined in using 'their' end.
I know there have been a few occasions at Portland where the opposition as warmed up at the club end, which is the end Portland warm up at every week, and is the side which their coaches box is towards. I believe there was an pre-game encounter when Mitcham's A grade chose the club end to warm up at a few years back.
Earlier this year the same thing happened when Port District B grade used 'Portland's end' to warm up at, and instead of using the other end, Portland B grade used the same end, and so the two sides were basically doing warm up drills within each other which I found a bit humorous.

I remember a Kenilworth v Plympton game where both teams warmed up in the same forward line. Was very interesting to watch Haha.
I played a game in the magoos against lockleys and we were warming up and they came and took over our spot. It pissed many blokes off and we then went on to belt them.

all this reminds of an Coll/Ess all-in, when one team ran through the banner, and the other team was on the other side!

I remember talking to Tony Shaw about that and he said "one of my best football memories was punching out Paul Salmon in that fight. A victory for the little guy"

would any clubs in Div 5 be using the 15 available any weeks. I know we are playing at minus 2 or 3 every week with all the under 18's we use.

just interested to see

Having been one of the clubs that were audited by the SAAFL and passed with flying colours im sure we can handle it. For the record we played with 11 points on Saturday.

13 according to your team sheet.

That's because SAAFL's brilliant new system isn't putting the -1's for Matt Reed and Sean Davidson on the team sheet. We have been to SAAFL several times over this, the last time being on Friday and they can't work out why it is happening. We haven't needed the -1's yet but it is definitely annoying.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

I think we warmed up at your end once which caused a massive hissy fit, we were completely unaware that you had an end so it wasn't deliberate and we moved once the handbags had been swung and the dummies spat.

In 250 games Hope Valley is the only team I have encountered that feels so strongly about it. Someone mentioned Portland, we have definitely warmed up at the club end with no fuss.

Agree Boosh. No malice in it. Thought it was a tad churlish. For the HV official hope you found the passage in the rules of the game which says about what end you must warm up at

The oval was in good nic. The away facilities unreal. Valleys have it all together well done to Charlie who has had a massive hand in this

I just wanted to give Boosh another chance to say that we're whinging.

Just running through each ground we've played at this year (Rosewater, Glenunga, Brahma, North Haven, Hope Valley) and it's been the same end as the coaches box. I wondered if there was a reason, or if it was just a coincidence...?
