perhaps the sanfl should ask the clubs to vote on the following proposal

the top 3 clubs of the season are automatically entered into the foxtel cup, regardless of their own interests?

The whole club is a basket case.

A bit rich.

Either is it a joke of a competition in which the SANFL clubs shouldn't bother or it is a ridgie didge comp in which the reputation of SA football is on the line.

Make up your mind.

I like this idea...

... the league has to decide whether its supporting this or not.

At present they're putting up their hand saying they are, but then spitting on it... to me it's not a good look.

While the Foxtel Cup is being made to look pointless...

... I believe the SANFL is being made to look like a pretty average league too.

Thought I'd share ..

Came home with son after school soccer and turned on the TV to catch the final minutes of the Foxtel Cup game.

Son ... " Dad what is THIS game?"

Dad ... " Its Port v Morningside "

Son ... "huh?"

Dad ... "It's the Foxtel Cup involving clubs from different state leagues, Port Magpies from the SANFL and Morningside from the Brisbane comp."

Son ... "But there's no one there"

Dad ... " Yeah, its not very well supported over here, bit of a Mickey Mouse comp."

Son .. "Yeah, but Mickey Mouse is popular."

The SANFL may bring in a rule to enforce clubs to participate in the Foxtel Cup but they would never be able to dictate to the clubs how strong the lineup is.
I would pretty much guarantee that if Norwood, Centrals and the Eagles were forced to participate this season we would have all sent out our U18's

Let me try again. Your son plays soccer, so no wonder he doesn't really follow football too closely.

That better?

Haha, nice thread title. Just wanted to check, was it edited when Westies lost by 100 points to reflect that debacle, or is some one ( mods or admin ) that immature to just change it because it is Port?
