Well done West - sets up a HUGE game next week for them vs Central @ Elizabeth.
Second vs Third, but the Bloods have played one more game than the Dogs I think, with just 2 premiership points separating them at the moment.
Steve Bradbury and Michael Milton. Aussie Legends.

Great day at the footy (except those bloody clappers all the kids got  ). The way Westies controlled the ball in the last quarter when kicking into the wind was something I have not seen for along time....they were very good. Wind was quite strong on the outer side.

Hartlett has taken his game to another level and Fergusson has found his old form. Tippet did well on Groeke too. Depth at the club is also as deep as I can remember. IMO as many as 12 players could force their way into the league team from the reserves. Well done to the lads, enjoy the night and then focus on beating the dogs next week. Win that and then finals is a possibility [-o< :ymdaydream: .

Im starting to think more than just a finals appearance is a possibility for the Bloods Brod, they have been playing impressive footy and are building nicely .. They have a good list of quality footballers and their best is as good as anyone. If they can play at their optimum for longer periods, and perhaps continue to increase their offence output, who knows how far they could go ..

Looked like a good crowd there, all of Westies school zone players/teams were given free tickets today, looks like it may have paid off with great weather also.

All the kids got big bags of lollies and handclappers too. Most annoying sound when you have 400 going off at the same time by hyper kids

West quite simply were the better team, and probably a 5-6 goal margin would have been a more accurate reflection I reckon.
We lack a spark to get us going. A lot of players look like they are happy doing a bit, but leaving it to others to do the real hard work for long perios. Every now and again we play for a few minutes of decent footy, and looks like we are getting back into our "groove" but it doesn't last for long.
West have a good list, will make the finals, and could have a real shot with a more offensive gameplan.

Disappointing, but West too good. They had strong targets up forward and we didn't. Eagles kept in the game enough to give themselves a chance in the last quarter but West closed it up and deserved their win.

The game was over umpired. SANFL use to let the play go, but I reckon the AFL umpiring allows a harder contest than the SANFL does now.

Why doesn't the SANFL direct it's umpires to treat each game like it was a Grand Final and let it flow for the sake of entertainment; think of the supporters/members first and maybe the word will get around thus increasing crowd numbers :o

Sunday Mail article was spot on. West just too good, and they have a very strong spine, dominated aerially. Was concerned at first bounce to note the average age of WWT midfield was about 31. Not a pretty game, I was hoping the umpires might do what they do in the Primary Bs - stop the game and tell everyone to go back to their positions! On a brighter note, very friendly people at Richmond, lots of polite young people serving in the shops, and I got a free stubby holder too!

Did not see the Centrals game but from where I sit West are the best team Norwood have played so far this year. Nathan Bassett spoke well of them too.
Will be very interesting next week against Centrals.

DANIEL WEBB
A naturally talented footballer who is capable of anything
I noticed this when watching Webb lining up to kick for goal
Just B4 he moves into stride he throw/twirls the football upwards in a spinning motion and then catches the ball on return [the ball gets to about head high]
When he catches the footy he then goes into his stride , and shoots for goal
A very very unorthodox untextbook style

QUESTIONS
Will this be a long term method for Webb ?
If he drops the ball, can the umpires call play on ?
Could an umpire actually deem Webb as throwing the ball ?

Totally agree .. Outside of the masters that turn it on when they need to, Westies have been the most impressive team Ive seen this year

Watching the AFL the throw is now a legit method of getting the ball out provided you dont drag or hold the thing in play on.
