SHOC's C grade in Div 7 were better than the B grade in Div 1 res who only lost 2 games all year - mainly cause alot of players didnt like playing under the coach. I have seen some great footy this year from some very good players in Div 6 and do you think Uni's C grade is full of C graders? I dont think so! Since the SANFL abolished the u/17 & u/19 system more young players just move on to the local clubs. Some developed later and that 2nd year of u/19's was enough to propel them onto bigger and better things. But that opportunity got removed thanks to one - B Phillips!

I knew it! :(

Went both ways riddler - the b grade coach couldnt identify the good players that flash had in his team. By finals time they had built a bond and werent going to split up. You faced a bloody good side in the granny - interesting that none of the premiership team have played Div 7 this year. The majority are playing A grade footy somewhere for a new club.

Mate, you have absolutely no clue. The B grade had better players than the C grade, dont know what ur on about. If you look at the B grade GF side, if you know so much, name me 1 player who didnt deserve to be in that B grade side? Sorry riddler, you did play SHOCs C grade in the GF.
Majority are playing A grade somewhere else? Try 2 blokes (zac ellis and sam marshall) who are playing somewhere else at kenilworth and clg. Dont make me state facts!

I like bloozebrother's version of events better :)

Henceforth to be known as the Weekley-Boothey paradox as seemingly neither of those players have actually moved into the higher grades, contrary to all evidence.

Why is it such a big deal that you need to convince everyone that MP and other low ranked sides have good players that could play higher?? No sh!t you have players who could play higher, every club does, they are called the 'good players', you also have stinking players who could play lower. How boring would football be if the best 210 players played D1, the next best 210 playeed D2 etc.

But in the end who cares, they play D7, not D1.

You do sound however like you have an over inflated view of the players at your club.

What an amazing debate this has been. Sometimes morrell, you need to concentrate on work. MP has some good players but I highly doubt any of them would be anywhere near Div 1. That is why they are playing Div 7. I have coached at D1 and D2 and against Broadview a few years ago, and if the weasel is from Broadview, as it appears, this current MP team would have beaten their ressies by a large margin. In fact most top 4 clubs up to Div 4 would have. But thats B grade, not the elite. 5 of SHOC's Div 7 premiership team from 2011 are now in their A's and check out how they are going. Reality check boys.

Cmon Yank I'm a product of div 5/6 and I could easily carve up div 1 if I could kick, mark, run faster, get fitter have a little more hair and actually had the ability to play the game. Being in SA may also help......

So Ben getting in the best for PHOS two weeks in a row is all some sort of miracle?

If Ben is capable of performing at that level after having been in the system for a season or two and getting a pre-season done, then we would have at least 2 or 3 more and maybe up to 5 that could as well. As I said Ben is a great footballer and probably our best player over the last decade, but I didn't think he was ever streets and miles ahead of other players. Just needed a Div 1 pre-season, an injury free body and a coach to back him in.

Everyone at this level needs to stop underrating the talent that is running around. Just like some players lift and fit into the AFL after playing in the SANFL, there would be quite a few that have the skill set and the ability to lift and play much higher, including Div 1, but currently do not have the fitness base, confidence or chance to play higher.

I will leave it there as it is a bit thread derailing, but I stand by my point that each Div 6 side would have 2-3 players that could slot into a Div 1 side with relative ease and the reason why we are div 6 and 7 is because we only have 2-3 of those players, not 30.

All good, been a healthy football debate. :)

No facts to state - I saw all 3 GF's and in MY OPINION the C grade were a far better outfit than the B's. Those guys in Div 7 were playing better football at that time of the year and were playing for a coach that they respected a hell of alot more than what was above them. It was a far more enjoyable environment. Hence most of them didnt want to go up anyway - and that i do know.

I never mentioned my footy brain ;) . I'm the perfect example of ambition out weighing ability! Hell knows how I won a b&f and a flag. Maybe its all those games in C7 FC ;)
