A miss late in the game meant our momentum stopped when we could have only been one point down and Fitzroy's calm demeanour allowed them to score a comfortable 14 point win in the end.
Match played in pretty good spirit on one of the strangest ovals I've ever had the pleasure of playing on. That north eastern pocket really challenges you when kicking for goals!
Also - congrats to the best club umpire I've seen in a very long experience of playing under club umps. It was a particularly top job as our umpire for the day didn't bother to put his gear on and do the job (embarassing for us).
Another highlight of the day was getting to see a bit of Punk Rooster playing
Someone said there was league official there watching you for a spot in the State side Punky

Ha! He's not married yet. Just asked her to marry him.
I heard the hills were alive with the sound of music when he asked the question.
And she said that Duncs was one of her favourite things.

Don't know Hotpies- just stated that the side they put on the park was very competitve, and if they could keep that side, they would not be bottom. We lost two big blokes to injury during the game- who knows what effect that may have had on the result?
I don't have an issue with B graders helping the C's- quite often C grade are just filling a side, and having a bench is a blessing, especially when you get injuries. Most B graders are sore from their own hit-out, and are often just making up numbers.

If you're 50/50 to make finals then you could effectively schedule a twilight or night game towards the end of the season and just have your whole B grade have a few hours rest then double up again at night and nothing will be said by the league. If you ain't got enough players don't have a C grade, simple!!

Trouble is that you may have 90+ players in February which soon becomes 60 odd come June/ July.
