Which bricks? Ones in your head or in the box?

We had a guy break his ankle at North Haven by sliding into the clubrooms, could well have gone straight through the window. Thanks to the Haven officials who were very accommodating. They were just as annoyed as we were as theyve been lobbying to the council for years to have a fence or barracade put up to no avail.
A Scotch player also had his jaw broken and I've heard about a couple of other serious injuries too..

5 metres of grass then about 3-4 metres of concrete. He got on to the concrete and slid on his sprigs.
Would not want to buy land off you.

I didn't hear about the guy in the B Grade, that is very unfortunate. I saw the guy with the shoulder in the A's, that didn't look good.
We were talking about this subject during the week it seems like there have been a lot of injuries this season, we have had two very serious injuries along quite a few not as serious. We had two minor knee injuries a torn driver and a dislocated elbow in the A's yesterday.

Wouldn't be a visit from Hope Valley without the 10 weeks of complaints about the ground and clubrooms afterwards

We have been hassling the council for 10 years for a fence, even offering to pay for it ourselves but are always knocked back.
Whilst it is very unfortunate for the lad involved hopefully it forces the council to take action.

Is there some legal risk for the club with how dangerous it is. Isnt it up to both club and council to provide a safe playing arena which also includes surrounding areas.
What would happen if someone slipped head first and died, very very very unlikely but you never know.

Each club has to sign off on the safe playing conditions, if a club is unhappy they don't sign it.

Not blaming the club just saying there is a great to the club and council legally if something was to happen. I work at place which has great risks and we take every precaution possible and complete all correct safety checks etc etc BUT if something was still to happen we would still be liable that is why our insurances are so high.
If the club knows how big a risk of injury is there and the council want do anything should they not be trying to go higher up. Player safety is a clubs number 1 priority.
Im sure the player who has injured himseld would have legal standing if he decided to go to court and both club and council would have a case to answer you would think regardless of forms being signed off.
While the club is trying to do stuff through the council they still have a duty of care which includes things they can control like bringing in the boundary line, padding, etc
Unfortunatly its the world we live in contracts etc etc mean sweet fa.

If there's written documentation highlighting a concern to the council and they have not acted upon it they become liable. I've been down the same road trying to get a mammoth speed hump between a canteen and a playground and a blind corner.
