ok a bit better but would still want some sort of guarentee about availabilty in September/October!

And for next season.
Be pissed off if you paid a transfer fee and then Port trade him at end of year

OK so a club pays Glenelg a transfer fee, and Port delist him. He'll be off back to Melbourne next year so where is the value?
Whatever the transfer fee is its not going to be looked at favourably by any club members.
Best scenerio is he goes to the bottom side and Port pay the transfer fee.

Port Magpies members will be able to vent their spleen about paying a transfer fee for Salopek at the Board or at their next AGM.

Find this interesting as we may have a similar situation with Tambling soon.........
That's not to suggest that I have knowledge of team selections, because I don't, it's just that our hierachy may be afraid of dropping him depending on how this pans out.

If Tambling cant get a league game for Sturt there is no hope for him, maybe it shows how ordinary he is

So essentially Port have had to pay money to have a player move to their own club. I love it!

Was never in doubt he was going to end up at the Magpowers.

Since their 1 club if the Magpies make finals could they allow all the Power listed Magpie players available while making all the power listed players from the other clubs unavailable.

The sooner there is an AFL reserves comp and we lose the Magpies the better.

Yeah it is pretty silly that Glenelg received money for someone who isn't even on their payroll.

What a farce. If wwt look like they may miss the finals can we "borrow" grocke mid year? At least it's a good sign for the comp. that port magpies have money to spend mid year.

He gets de-listed at the end of the year and heads back home to melbourne?
More money well spent?
Or did they get inside info from Port power that they'll keep him for 1 more season.
Does anyone think the other interested clubs would have got a straight answer from PAP?
The answer would be to South for example...we'll look at it at the end of the year.

But he is on the glenelg payroll - The club pays him to play at a given value while the AFL club pays his contracted amount - there is a gap! All AFL players get paid for playing and it counts towards match payments on the SANFL salary cap - Just that these players are great value on your salary cap when they contribute to the club.

Westies have a player at the crows (no name in case he doesnt want it public) who got permission from the crows to assist with our juniors each week. This player wasnt a WAFC junior. Seems many of the mini-drafted players get along very well with their host club.

The issue of a reserves side solving this is farcial. Where will the top up players for this reserves side come from? If they come from our club zone I would want maximum transfer fee up-front AND when the AFL reserves team delists him, he is a free agent to any club. It is not a financial or viable option as the AFL clubs dont cough up for zone development. Every SANFL club commits a large sum of money to their zones and player development. We dont need any more afl interference with our great competition.

If the Power knew right now that Salopek was going to be delisted at the end of the year do you think they would care that he was playing reserves footy and had him moved?

Pleased for Salopek to have escaped from glenelg. How stupid it is that Port have to pay to get their own player away, the sooner both Port and the crows have their own 2nd teams the better.

If you are referring to the recently re-signed star of the Crows he has had his coaching position at West Adelaide reported in the media earlier in the season.

Most AFL players enjoy their time at their SANFL clubs. Josh Jenkins even slagged the VFL for their lack of atmosphere so he certainly likes the SANFL

Only problem is that the media reported it as he was working with the senior sides not juniors :?
