Bailey had got them 7 wins ( they were 7-9-1 ) before being torn a new one by the Catters at Cat Park in late 2011, no surprise going down there and being pumped. Bailey got the arse because of one bad game in a knee jerk reaction. He had more of a clue that Neeld who is trying to get a very poor list to play a very skilled game plan that he saw work at Collingwood.

Melbourne shat in their own nest getting rid of Bailey.

How many years did Bailey have in charge before achieving the lofty heights of 7-9-1? It was more than just one game he stank up the joint.

REB, short memory mate. Thommo took what, 8 years? Bailey was on the right path but that week remember, they had the issue around the CEO (Schwab) not being renewed and the players played like they were uncertain of their future. Bailey was on the right track, they just didn't stick with him.

Can we fast forward a few years and replace Bailey with Neeld. I hope not! Melbourne must 'stick fat' with Neeld now. They've made the decision to go with someone untried (again) and they'll look EXTREMELY stupid if they sack him too.

Can I remind you, in 2003, you were 7-14-1? Anything you say from here will be hypocritical.

I dunno mate, a lot of dandruff hit the floor when watching the Demons over this period. Cub barracks for the Demons and after watching every one of those games I'm convinced the concept of the press passed him by completely. I wasn't the least surprised that after a such an extensive history mediocre results that culminated with the second worst defeat in AFL/VFL history that he got the arse.

He was useless. That doesn't make Neeld a gun by any stretch but at least give him the chance to win those magical three wins that were apparently enough for the Dees to give Bails another 60 odd games in charge.

Yep thats a problem, mainly due to the pressure that is put on him at the moment. Also with scully gone who do you tag? At the moment Trengrove is getting the attention which is why Jones is getting more of the ball. Unless the rest around him can lift he is in for a tough year.

Also with Grimes coming back from injury hasnt help at all. He is starting to get better but they really need him up and firing to have any chance. Magner goes alright, probably time to start seeing watch couch can do.

Anyway if they are not careful clubs might start getting into Trengroves ear (Which they probably are already, as thats how it works). But hey if I was a Adelaide Crow recuriting personnel, Christ I would be just giving his family and agent a nudge saying "look mate we are looking good for a crack at a flag in the next few years, what do ya say". You know something like that and try to get him back to Adelaide. Would be huge if they could pull it off.

Jack Trengove hasnt played well/or at his normal consistent level all year.Too young for captaincy.

The basic errors that they made under slight pressure tells me there is absolutely no confidence in the group at all. Is the rumour re. playing group unrest on the money?

Its really sad to see a proud club battling. I think they'll struggle against GWS and the Suns.

The rumour of playing group unrest always goes around when a team is struggling, but in this case with Melbourne imploding it seems to be carrying a bit of weight. I know that Watts is not happy at all at the moment, but thats his own problem as well. Pettard is a shadow of himself a year or so ago and joins the list of players looking like they have gone backwards. Throw in a struggling Trengrove and Grimes and you start to see your young starts not going in the right direction.

In short with Cloke, they wont get him, money is money but imploding is not attractive. Trust me, we have been there it does not help you get players or retain them!

In short and Gary Lyon would like this, I'm actually only really saying this to have a crack at him, but Melbourne drafting and recruitng players into that environment is a problem. If I had a young son I would be horrified at him going to Melbourne to play. There development will be stunted and their career will flop. I believe it is called imploding.

despite losing by 100 i think the scoreboard flattered Melbourne last night, the end margin doesn't show just how much Sydney dominated

Interesting that the comments from Carlton last year were that Melbourne played "Bruise free football", yet many of the Carlton supporters would throw that same label on their own.

I can't see the Demons have any chance in this game, but if finally they decide to stand up and have their best crack possible, they could make it a bit closer than most would expect.

Well over 300. I expect them to capitulate by the end of the three week run they are about to embark upon.

They will go into the mid-season break 0-11 with Collingwood being their 11th loss and,IMO, the biggest loss.

I would expect them to show a bit of heart for the QB clash. I also think Collingwood will employ some creative rotation in the two games before the bye.

They played us after the "bruise free" game, and got walloped by 76 points. Carlton are very much under the pump. If we don't smash these blokes, then the pressure on the Blues will be enormous.
