seems like evryone from every team is complaining about the push in the back rule, therefor it must be atleast consistant, might be consistantly bad but it seems to be happening to everyone...

I disagree I think it is consistently bad. The umpire just don't seem to get it right. The push in the back rule has always been there just never correctly adjudicated.

this rain should do the ovals good might lower the margins slightly over the weekend if it continues some games might only be 38 goal wins instead of 40

Most definetely...but what a waste of resources and time having to attend a tribunal...

as you said earlier sounds like an over protective dad and a club with too much spare time

Someone told me that the umpire paid a 50m penalty against the brighton player? Sounds weird if it was a fair bump?

Also told that the umpire paid a 50m penalty....but when questioned after the game although the bump was after the contest it was deemed to be not neglegent enough for a report. Surely if the umpire paid a 50m then that was what he deemed appropriate for the incident....the only weird part is Flaggies then taking the matter further.....I can understand if the incident was behind the play or reported by a third umpire or SFL official - but for Flaggies to lodge the report is ridiculous....

Didnt know a forearm was a fair bump!

And we all know the umps dont lay reports because they cant be bothered appearing during the week. I have had a team mate slugged in the face 2 metres in front of the umpire and when I questioned him his response was "He started it".

have heard thet blackwood are refusing to clear darren hare to cove along with 2 other blokes to noarlunga. There appers to be a rule that states that if a clearance is submitted after the 1st of march and the club deems them required players they dont have to clear them even if they arent contracted and are financil at their old club. This required player part is a funny one because i would think that all players at your club would be required. I know that all three players do not want anything to do with blackwood and have told them so but blackwood still wont clear them. It seems a bit rough that these 3 lads who are 19 and 20 years old may have to sit a season out because of this rule when all they want to do is play footy with their mates. I know that noarlunga never like to loose players but at the end of the day if someone doesnt want to be at your club what is the point in forcing them to stay. I believe all blackwood are doing is burning their bridges and closing the door on these lads who pehaps may have returned to the club down the track. Has anyone else encounted this problem before and is there any way around it? The SFL has said that the best way of sorting this out is to sit down with blackwood and try to come to an agreement. I dont believe this will work because they seem to have a problem with the new b grade coach at noarlunga who is originally from blackwood and the fact that players left to go to the shoes with him. Just interested to hear what you guys think on this issue.

Peters Punting Palace

Has been hard to work out the odds this week because of the possibilty of wet weather on saturday, so there is prob good value in some of the line bets offered.

Can't open a mail medal market at mo cause I dont know enough players around the league or who the good new recruits are.

Round 2
(All line bets pay $1.90)
Cove $1.20 (-58.5) vs. Flagstaff $4.50(+58.5)
Lonsdale $1.75 (-11.5) vs. Christies $1.97 (+11.5)
Noarlunga $1.85 (+1.5) vs. Porties $1.85 (-1.5)
Marion $4.50(+59.5) vs. Reynella $1.20 (-59.5)
Southern H $18.00(+130.5) vs. Happy Valley $1.01(-130.5)
Morph Park $5.00 (+70.5) vs. Brighton $1.12(-70.5)
Aldinga $18.00 (+141.5) vs. Morph Vale $1.01 (-141.5)

Good Luck.

Girth- yeah I dont see what it will prove not clearing them. They have obviously decided to move on, and by not allowing them to leave seems a bit petty. Its not like they are gonna change their mind and come back to the club...

$1.97 for Christies may be worth a bit considering the wet... Give me $2.10 and we will talk!

brighton over morphie park by 15 goals
the emus over the sharks by 40 goals

Cove yes, i think Flaggies will improve again this year, which is good to see
Lonsdale over Christies by a similar margin (Tony Meekins without doubt worst coach in the league)
Shoes v Cockle divers - who cares (shoe be some punch ups though)
Reynella yes
Vikings by 50 goals
Brighton yes
Emus yes, although the rain might slow scoring rates down a little.

Cove (if its being played in a wet bog pit....ie bushpig oval anything could happen???)
Christies (but not by much)
Shoes (Cocklies low on playing stock and will struggle this year)
Reynella (but Marion mite get closer than some think)
Vikings (would go close to breaking the highest margin of 56 -20 if it wasn't raining!!!)
Brighton by 20 goal
Emus by 35 goal

Come on Petoes wheres the odds I want to see how much Im gonna clean up this week in an all-up!!!!!

My theorectical link up:

Cove
Christies
Porties
Reynella

I know a few of the guys down there and they arent really looking forward to the season coming up.. going to be a long one. A lot of the guys are past there best and fairly unfit compared with there rivals. There young players still a couple of years off. Current form... they won last week and porties lost..... How would you sum up where they are????

New drainage system prevents it becoming real boggy these days.

It is at Cove this week anyways...

Had the issue before Girth, bottom line...if you have done all you can to retain the player and it hasn't worked for one rerason or another.....let them go! as you so rightly put it, they won't even contemplate a return if they are stuffed around!
sports do not build character....they reveal it!
