I was surprised Dale king didn't get selected from us, I know he started the season a bit slow but has played some brilliant footy the last couple of weeks, and represented his last league at association and zone level,

My team was based on form alone! I know someone said Eckermann was out of form, but the game I have seen Mypolonga play he more then justified his pick.

To be honest P32 the following PROBABLY wont put their hands up to play anyway.

Bowen, Coulter, Ladhams, Motlop, Albrechtson, Abbott, Hall, (McLoed is an obvious omission). & Young Robbo hurt his shoulder Saturday according to the paper, so he could be out too.

Just on the Mcloed thing- How can the league take itself seriously, & try to hand out suspensions to normal hard working people, who have a crack every week for their club, yet have a genuine superstar available for at the very least SELECTION. If he cant play fair enough, or even if he doesn't want to play, fair enough! He's got zero to prove to anyone but let him go through the same headaches as everyone else & have to get a certificate to say so, if they wont to stay down the path of this ridiculous rule they have in place. TWO SETS OF RULES cant work

As far as I understand the ruling this yr, even if a medical certificate is handed to the league on a reason for someone's unavailability, then they will still be handed a 1 week suspension, I don't see how this can happen especially to the legitimate ones.. What's others thoughts on this??

With McLeod being contracted as an assistant coach at Norwood and Norwood playing on the Saturday of the Association match I'd say that's why he is allowed to be excused.

& If any other player has to work, will the same allowances be made for them? I think not! Certificate please is the only response you get.

If they are not going to accept certificates, then they are opening themselves up for legal action, & we all know how well the RMFL heads responded to the threat of that last year. So this CANT & WONT happen

Just a ridiculous situation, because of a few out-dated thinking people. Be transparent! Pick a squad who wants to play, & have some excellent bonding/training, instead of having 16 turn up on Tuesday night, & 30 on a Thursday night, of whome 7 have certificates. (as last 2 years) All it does is deflate the team that wants to represent (because lets face it, the blokes that make the team want to be there) the league, because they see people who would clearly make the team stronger pulling out. Plus giving some kids the chance to represent us instead of playing the same tired names that have clearly not been up to it in the last 2 years, might just work.

Absolutely spot on mate. Pick a squad that wants to play. They will bust their arse and you will still have a very competative side.

Couldn't agree more about a squad that wants to play and bonding etc, perhaps on a Sunday, have a light run a BBQ and a few beers,, before the serious trainings during the week? It's just a pity that more players don't want to play association footy, because we all know if this was the case our teams would have been alot stronger and much more competitive than what has actually been put on the park due to the unavailability of so many.

Talk at the office is that both RMFL U18 players that where in the State Squad have now been selected in the final team and got me to thinking how successful this league is with juniors and below is a list of players from the league that have represented the state in U18s since 2001

Brad Biddle - 2001 - Meningie
Ben Eckermann - 2003/2004 - Mypolonga
Adam Thomson - 2003/2004 - Ramblers
Matt Thompson - 2008/2009 - Ramblers
Corey Jones - 2008 - Mypolonga
Michael O'Malley - 2009 - Mannum
Chad Wingard - 2010/2011 - Imperials
Jarrod Lienert - 2012 - Imperials
Dwayne Wilson - 2012 - Imperials

9 RMFL REPRESENTATIVES IN 12 YEARS

I also reckon his knee is keeping him on the sidelines if my informants are correct.

Can anyone shed any light on Dalwoods comments in todays paper regarding Thorpe 'Retiring' from playing footy at the ripe old age of 19?

I beleive he just lost interest and was not enjoying his football, seems odd when you are running out along side Daniel Motlop and Andrew Mcleod.

Tips for this week.

Tailem vs Imps - Imps by 50 - Imps are quality side and will have to much class for the eagles but will be a great clash in the middle with Bowen and Davey going at it.
Mypo vs Ramblers - Ramblers by 10 - Mypo do play alot better on their home deck but Ramblers with a couple big forwards will be hard for the small mypo defenders to contain them but if Eckermann fires in the middle it should be a close one.
Meningie vs Jervois - Meningie by 30 - Jervois will be very hard at it looking for their first win and i think it will be close at the main break but Meningies pressure will get the best of them in the end and will run away with it. Will be good to see Mcleod running aroung again after a few weeks out of the side.

Yeah correct, hasnt enjoyed his footy the last couple of yrs, and finding it hard to fully commit to trainings etc with the work on the family farm. In saying that definately a very big loss for us. He didn't play last wk either.

Any truth in the rumour Owen Love has been picked in Tailem's side tomorrow. Heard he apologised to the playing group & asked if he could come back to the club. Anyone know anything about this???????
