I think he kicked, 4,8 & 2 on the weekend got a fairlygd nock but played, the lad from ports that played on him done well i thought. Also hearing a strong whisper that T.Price may be back in cat jumper before the end of the year if true will make them stronger in the last half of the year.

Flemming moved last year as he married a local girl who wanted to play netball there, Treloar moved there last year after an indiscretion on a pre-season footy trip with Ports, and was handed a 8 match suspension by the club, so packed up his bat & ball and moved there, and wauchope followed him there citing that he thought the club was wrong to do that??, and Copley has played there for a few seasons now, moving to Adelaide after playing in the 2004 premiership with Ports as an 18 year old, I think has some friends at Southern Minders....oops I mean Flinders.
So they all had their reasons, money was just an extra in the end. :D

I know flemming and copley arnt on big $$ copley was getting more at ports as a 14 yr old wen he started out in the a grade, treloars dust must have been huge for an 8 game club ban! He is a genuine star

You are right Smooth & Creamy, on his day a genuine star, but far too eratic in his last 2 seasons at Ports, hardly gave a wimper in his last season there, kicked 7 goals against Lions in the 1st night game of the year, and would have been lucky to kick 30 for the year (if that) which was predominately his role as a small forward.
As for his 'indescretion' probaly better off left off this forum, however he was not alone, but the others took the suspensions on the chin, a fair insight into his discipline on & off the field.

Sorry all a bit of reading but,
This has been cut from the Agenda for this Wednesday 23rd May PPRCouncil Meeting put forward to be received from the minutes of the Sport and Recreation Committee meetings held on the 17 April and 15 May 2012.

11. That the Port Pirie Football League be charged $1,000 per day for use of Memorial Oval;
12. That the Solomontown Football Club be charged $2,500 per season for the use of Globe Oval;
13. That the Lions Football Club be charged $2,500 per season for the use of Memorial Oval;
14. That the Port Pirie Cricket Association be charged $100 per game for the use of Memorial Oval and $60 per game at other Council ovals;
15. That the Port Pirie Night Baseball League be charged $100 per night plus lighting charges for the use of Memorial Oval

......................and then a little further on

Consolidation Options
20. That Council make the commitment to consolidate to support sharing of grounds by the different sports;
21. That the various options below be canvassed with the community and the community be invited to comment on each or provide differing options:
(a) Port Oval become headquarters for football and cricket with soccer and softball moving to Memorial/Pirie West (would require school community approval). Senate Road and Leonard Park become surplus;

Surely this can't be right!!

Good find Student!
Some initial thoughts:
(i) Are these figures an increase on what the Pirie Clubs pay at the moment?
(ii) Some might suggest that these moves are with a view to Northern Demons having a stand alone facility at Senate Road;
(iii) Is Port Oval large enough for spectators in finals or Ports /Sollies derbies?
(iv) Wouldnt this result in a 3 team A Grade cricket comp?

Wish both South Augusta & Central Augusta all the best with their 100 year celebrations this weekend (even though they are playing in their 101'st season) it is a pity Centrals are not currently at full strength, the A grade game would have been a cracker. I’m tipping South’s to win by 15 goals.

Are Centrals going to become a force at the end of the uear? I remember they have started slowly previously and ended up winning the flag.

Centrals without Ray Hayes = wooden spoon favourites. I suspect Matty Woolford will be heading back to Southern Flinders before June 30 too!

Woolford contracted to centrals until next year. SF have no chance. I know there are injuries, have the senior players retired?
