Elizabeth v Woodville South- Eagles by 40-50 points at home after a return to some good form last weekend and taking it right up to the top side the Dogs . Cats need to put up a showing now or the season is gone for them!
Mawson Lakes v Lockleys- Saints by 50-60 points to fine some form on their home turf after having a bad week against a pumped up Fitzroy.!
Plympton v Fitzroy - Dogs by 30-40 points at home to keep that undefeated recorded going one more week and not looking at dropping a game anytime soon.(Could Fitzroy upset the Dogs). Match of the round!
Kilburn v Hectorville- Hounds by 30-40 points after finding some out standing form last weekend against one of the flag favourites. The Hounds were great!Chics will be fighting hard to stay in the game at home!
Kenilworth v Scotch- Kookaburras by 50-60 points at home and will need a big win! After such a poor showing at Daly oval last weekend .Scotch maybe in for a very long day!

The Match of the round was not easy to pick.Yet Fitzroy showed last weekend when on their game they are a real chance to beat anybody in this comp!

I know we belted them, but Woodville South can hold their head up after Saturday.
They lost a player in the first, having started with the bare 18, but kept at it all day. Never gave in or dropped their heads.
And never went the knuckle. Good stuff.

They kicked the first goal of the game and their player looked at me and said "That's the first time we've led this season".
Couldn't help but piss myself laughing.

Lost a game yesterday we could've won. A few sleepy patches - particularly in the third - cost us. A miss late in the game meant our momentum stopped when we could have only been one point down and Fitzroy's calm demeanour allowed them to score a comfortable 14 point win in the end.

Match played in pretty good spirit on one of the strangest ovals I've ever had the pleasure of playing on. That north eastern pocket really challenges you when kicking for goals!

Also - congrats to the best club umpire I've seen in a very long experience of playing under club umps. It was a particularly top job as our umpire for the day didn't bother to put his gear on and do the job (embarassing for us).

Another highlight of the day was getting to see a bit of Punk Rooster playing ;)
