Garbage. You weren't around in the 90s I take it. Not that the record improves particularly.

Check the results AF! I think you'll find TB is correct. I watched the game until half time and thought the thuderers had the cabbage cutters measure. They must have laid down in the second half.

I was referring to the incorrect 21-0 record. This only refers to our time in central div since 2002. May be a long time before the ledger looks somewhat reasonable.

As for the game, you are correct. Uraidla always find a way to win and our boys didn't respond after half time.

I’m hoping someone can assist me with my conundrum. I've been looking at the Torrens Valley team sheet and don’t understand how it all works with the points system?
I am lead to believe they have a 14 point allowance, is this correct? From my calculations it would run as below:

Player , last years League(team) , Points
Tom Billings, Broken Hill, 2 Points
Tate Giadresco, Northern Areas Football Association(Broughton Mundoora), 3 Points
Dylan Hicks, Hills Central (Lobethal), 3 Points
Craig Jamar, SAAFL (Goodwood Saints), 3 Points
Cameron Montgomerie, Mid west Football League, 2 Points
Tyrone Price, Spencer Gulf Football League (Solomontown), 3 Points
Braden Renshaw, SANFL (North Adelaide), 3 Points (as he didn’t play last year)
Dane Thompson, SAAFL (Sacred Heart), 3 Points

Plus Aaron Kite and Dale Ellis would still be 2 each making a total of 27 points minus 1 for Kurt Waterman(under 17) = 26 points
So as I said can someone please explain this to me? I was told by an ex Mt Barker person at the start of the year that Torrens Valley had invented away to get around the points system but only now am I starting to believe!

Ironbank played well in the first half I take it? The results in the first few weeks seem to reflect uraidla being better then most posters and I for that matter, had predicted. Either way the comp seems even and a great tight year expected.

You have done your research there OTH, then there would be all the players with points to their name running around in the Bs aswell. Mt barker also had two players with points running around in the Bs on the weekend.

Completely different build-ups with Roos training 3 nights a week since X-mas and Uri's taking to the track for their usual February late start. Will the Roos have greater fitness or Uri's more firepower in the goalfront ?

Interesting to see how many tricks the respective coaches use or take away from their clash at the cabbage patch on the 26 May (cause a few tricks are gonna be required to topple the cabbage in September).

2 completely different sides, a young side Mt barker based on pace and endurance starting their pre season early. While Uraidla have bigger older bodies who might not hold up through a long pre season. Having seen mt barker play a few games this year and not seeing much of Uri's its hard to comment but both sides seem to have a really good blend of youth and experience. 2 different game plans, not sure which side is favoured to play the other though.

I think I'd be going with the game plan that has won the last 3 premierships!

Sniper's post about the Roos training got me thinking about how teams train, so here's a couple of questions that I would be interested to hear feedback.
1. How often do the other clubs train?
2. Do they have good numbers on the track?
3. Is the quality of training good or is it a joke?

Can anyone from the Roos inform us about Jonathon Cheetham? Was recruited at the beginning of the year but I see he hasn't played a game yet. He could help stop the Uri forward line. I'm predicting the Roos to trouce the cutters in a few weeks time but come september it may be a different story.

Most clubs start in November, during the winter months it depends on the weather but twice a week is the norm. Most teams don't train much when it gets wet and cold (45-60min sessions). Generally the training is of a high standard from what I've seen.

Jumbo, that's a big call mate. My kiss of death to:
Uris to beat Magpies by 30 points. Uris not in top gear yet but too strong.
Ironbank to beat Lofty by 48. Bankers too good at home for the feisty young Lofty lads.
Lobey to beat Bridgie by 20. Lobey are competitive and Bridgie are better than last year. Should be close.
Roo-boys to beat Woodsmen by 36. Are a couple of Barkeroos carrying injuries?
TV to beat Onkas by 10. Home ground for TV and Onkas not living up to pre-season hype.

I would have a wild guess that at least one would be a Hicks brother and most would have been Torrens valley players, they struggle with sticking to just playing footy at times
Will be interesting to see the outcome at tribunal!
