Do you have a 2nd favourite team?

Postby valleys07 » Wed May 16, 2012 12:08 pm

I was at a function at the West Adelaide footy club last night for work and managed to catch a glimpse of the bloods training session. It brought back memories as my dear old nan is a die hard bloods fan and I must admit I hold a soft spot for the bloods for that reason. Thought id pose the question, do you have a “soft spot” for a team and for what reason?

Most will find this hard to believe but growing up on the West Coast, having had heaps of mates play for them, Port is my second team.

Have also seen the great work they 'used' to do over here.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Norwood First obviously, then South Adelaide as my long departed Brother in Law, Ross Brady, was a totally loyal South Adelaide Diehard, always think of him when we play the Panthers

RIP Ross.

Cheers,

The Bloods. I lived in the area for many years and played cricket with West players and many supporters. Where I lived there were Westies supporters everywhere. Not a lot of them city wide but a loyal and fantatical breed.

Stevie Rechner (top bloke) once said to me 'what are you barracking for that mob for' at Richmond and I pointed at the scoreboard ha ha.

West Adelaide because they were my Grandfathers team and I grew up watching them play pretty often!

Glenelg in the finals ;) (touch wood)

Probably South, only because I know what it's like to follow a team for thirty years without a premiership.

Not a 2nd favourite, but oddly, Port would be my preferred "other" SANFL club.

If the day ever came (perish the thought) there was no more Norwood, I wouldn't barrack for Port, but I think they'd be the team I would most go and watch play (due to location and mates that support them).
